Panasonic TC-P46G10 solid LED screen lights up

Last week my Panasonic Viera TC-P46G10 plasma TV stopped working after a short power outage caused by a storm. I have read everything I can find on this forum and just want a professional opinion on my situation because I could not find my model or my exact issue.

When I power on the TV, the relay clicks and the red LED lights up like normal operation. After a few seconds, the screen lights up...there is no picture and it is dim put you can tell it is lit in the dark. Pressing any keys on the system or remote has no effect and nothing is placed on the screen (menu, input, channel, volume, etc...). The screen will stay lit up until I power off the tv. Also, the fans never turn on.

I opened the tv and looked around and there are power LEDs lit on SS and SC boards. I am going to check the voltage on P25 pin 9 for 5V tonight when I get home as the service manual suggests.

My educated guess is that something is wrong with the 'A' board since fans are attached to it, menus do not show up, the screen appears lit, SC and SS have power LEDs, and there seems to be nothing wrong with power since TV stays on.

Let me know what you all think...is this a good assessment and I should get a new 'A' board? Is there a test to verify that the 'A' board is the issue? Is there somewhere else I should start? Am I way off and just plain stupid for existing? Any help is appreciated as this is the first TV I have worked on. (I'm a computer guy).

    Thanks,

    JD

A board would be my diagnosis as well, especially since the fans aren't working.

Re: Panasonic TC-P46G10 solid LED screen lights up

I received the 'A' board today and replaced it. With it I get no power LED's on either SS or SC boards and still no fans. I also get no dim screen light like I do with the original 'A' board. I'm at a loss now.

Any suggestions or troubleshooting ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like a dud A-board, any SOS blink codes coming from it?

        Identical boards including revision suffix?

        Power indication at the front?

        Any photos ?

There are no SOS blink codes.

          Both boards are TNPHO7932A.

The red power LED stays lit continuously.

Please find attached pictures of original 'A' board. I did not add pictures of the replacement board as no LED's on SS and SC boards lit up. Nor did the display light up, so there was not really anything to show. Note green LED's lit on SS and SC boards. Note also that the screen is dimly lit and the red power LED is lit. TV stays on until I hold the power button for a few seconds and it cuts off.

If you need anything else that may help, let me know.

TNPH07932A is the bare printed cct board assembly number.

For yours, the A board is TNPH0793 AB. The suffix AB can be worked out by a series of jumpers just above the TNPH07932A print on the board.

            I think there's about 10 different revisions.

I don't know if what you have is a complete dud board or simply not compatible.

You might as well post a picture of the replacement.

Was the TV tuned in before it broke, any sound in TV mode with the antenna connected?

Re: Panasonic TC-P46G10 solid LED screen lights up

Looking at the little board with dots above the assembly number, both boards have the same pattern.

I had directv connected through HDMI when the power went out for a few seconds. When it came back on, no picture and no sound. I am unable to change the inputs because nothing comes on the screen so I don't know how I can test anything but HDMI 1.

I have attached a few pictures. The first and second are the "new" board and the third is the original board.

I am getting another board as the only explanation I can come up with is that I got a dead one.

Is there anything else that I may be overlooking or any thing other than the 'A' board that could be causing the issue?

I cannot think of any other board that can cause this fault.

Received the replacement 'A' Board on Saturday and it fixed the issue. Thanks for all the help!

                    **SOLVED**
'A' board was bad. After replacing the 'A' board the Television is now working again.

Good to hear, a dud board was about the only thing that made any sense. Good to see sellers doing the right thing.

Fantastic. Just wished sellers would actually -test- the boards they say they do.

The seller said that the board came out of a TV with a broken screen so he didn't know if it worked but guaranteed money back for any reason.

When I told him the board didn't work, he sent me another one and told me to keep the bad one and not to worry about shipping it back. I guess I got lucky that he had 2 boards because it was his last one. Very pleasant transaction and good seller. Now all I have to do is test all the connections...

I'm just happy I was able to get it back going for $140! If both of his boards did not work it was going to cost in the $350-$400 range...although I am a little upset I didn't get to buy a newer model.

Dell Precision 5530 15" died to blown chip. Replaced chip and now only get momentary fans, lights, no screen or boot

                            Hello,

My Dell Precision 5530 turned off suddenly when I was running Matlab and wouldn't turn on, show any lights, fans, and/or any signs of activity at all. I opened the case, removed the battery and looked at the board with a thermal camera while the AC adapter was connected. I saw that PU1252 was >120C so figured the chip had died on me Got the part number off the attached schematic (see Mouser link below) and replaced the chip. After replacing the chip the board (connected to AC adapter) was able to briefly power on, spin the fans a little bit, and turn on the front led lights....

Macbook Air M2 A2681 Kernel panics after screen replacement
                            by reformatt
Just had a customer bring in a M2 MBA A2681 that had had a screen replacement in April at another repairer. Since then, she has been getting intermittent kernel panics. It's an aftermarket screen, and of course it fails in diagnostics as the calibration hasn't been done. The error in the panic log is "No device added after powering on the rails".

It seems the original repairer has swapped the board and the screen to other MAC's, and said that it isn't a screen issue. From what I understand, by doing a quick search on Google, this is in fact a screen issue. The panic relates...

                            Hi,

I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. I open the phone again, and I can't see anything major, with the phone open, if I press on the logic board, battery, charging board, or even putting pressure on...

Sony XBR-75X950G seems dead with a black screen but backlight and sound is working and no blinking red lights
                            by Audeze
I have a 2019 75" x950g, and while playing a movie, the screen suddenly went dark in a weird way, where it faded towards one corner into being fully black. Now the TV turns on, and the backlight comes on, but there is nothing displayed except black. Sound still comes through the TV speakers, and i have tried doing a hard reset using the volume - and power buttons while plugging the display back in, but it did not fix it. I can confirm that pressing buttons on my remote is still doing "something" because I'm hearing sound still, even though the screen is black.

                            Does...
