    Hi
Pin2 when sound is working is 3.35v.

Do you think its the audio ic..I have another board with the same one on and my god they are a bit of a pain to remove.

Ah... That's important. So when the audio is bad, the pin is definitely nearly 0V? Because that indicates a fault detected. Please double check that.

      Causes:
      * Short circuit or over-current on either speaker (possibly chafed wire, bad speaker coil: check resistance of speakers and try with only one speaker at a time)
      * DC detect fault: most likely TPA3113

DC detect would be rare, as it would typically not be intermittent.

Also, see if audio cuts out if the volume is low, and if it cuts out quicker on high volume.

You're probably looking at swapping the TPA3113 or a new 17MB60.

I will have to try changing it because this by the looks of things has got an odd ball screen, I cannot see one with the same lvds connector.

What screen does it use? Samsung? If the connector is the same, you should only need to access service menu to change LVDS mode.

                  hey guys!

sorry to but in I also have a problem very similar to the one stated on the same make,...
but mine is just loss of audio through the HDMI port all the scarts and phono jacks work fine,..

is this just a fault with the HDMI it's self and can it be rectified just by replacing that Control Board?

Thank you and sorry for butting in!

This is getting to be a common problem on this main board, I phoned my TV repair mate yesterday and he has 2 of these with audio faults, an Alba and a Toshiba.

If you do go for a main then be careful matching the things up

gnrlee I would try a reset from service menu.

Press 4 7 2 5 Menu, or Menu 4 7 2 5 on remote to get to service menu then select reset ("factory reset")

                        Cheers Tom!

Yeah tried that but didn't change anything!
and both HDMI's are the same with no audio.
                        New board then?

                          I'd try that then.

Crappy Toshiba Vestel... When will Tosh learn! They are running their laptop brand into the ground with re-badged "Compal" rubbish, then they run their TV and AV line into the ground... soon there will be no more Toshiba! All at the expense of a quick buck & payout for some CEO.

Common issue on these is 4 little 470nf 6.3v ceramic capacitors that provide the feed back for this Ic failing, you can buy repair kits on ebay however they are very hard to install. I will link one for you.

Sorry to resurrect this post. ReeceyBurger123 you appear to infer that its just the smd caps that fail and need replacing? Have you found that the chip also needs replacing? Or is it included in the kit on the basis that it might fail. I havnt actually used this kit in the past as been able to get a replacement board but am unable to get hold of a board for the Sharp LC-32D12EA which has inter audio on 17MB60 so looks like the kit with ultra small smd caps is only option.

The Problem: This player has a toggle switch to select between Stereo, Mono R, and Mono L. Regardless of the setting it outputs the sound to both the L&R audio jacks. In the Mono R position, the audio output level is normal (from both the L and R audio output jacks), in the Stereo position the audio output is about half the volume, and in Mono L, it's about 3/4 the volume. Something about putting it into Stereo mode is causing the volume to drop significantly and I can't figure it out.

The player processes the audio signal using two different reference frequencies. The "R"...
