So, we will connect 10 9 Volt Batteries together to obtain the needed 90 volts (Most Sharp LED TVs require 94 Volts. So 90 volts is safe

Take a look at the attached you tube video to see

We have however, on occasion could not determine the exact amount of Led's in a particular strip (In this case we try 2 different methods) 1st we try locating the led strips either on eBay or Google and simply look at the picture and simply count them OR, we begin using lower voltages until one of the strips light. Usually starting at 27 volts and going up from there Or, we look at the LED Driver voltages when the LED Strip is unplugged and power the set on to determine the highest voltage and go from there

We have had some success by simply jumping the return wire from known working strip, while disconnecting or clipping the defective strip + & return wire to make sure the TV will work properly without

Although some technicians do not agree we have found that many TVs will operate satisfactory even missing one led (especially edge lit screens) without much notice at all. Just will not be as bright and vibrant as it was when new but, yet, still view-able.

At least this method does save many of these TVs from otherwise ending up in some landfill and, may allow someone the opportunity to enjoy a LED TV that could not otherwise afford such

Hope this helps someone or many people viewing this forum
Without current limiter you can damage good LED if some of the LEDs on the strip are shorted out.

      Re: Test LED TV strip

That would work ONLY IF you cat something small enough to tough the points of the Led

2nd, Some Leds are multi Leds meaning they have 4 connections 2 for dim and 2 for bright

And, Also, IF you have the entire Screen removed from the panel

My method works WITHOUT removing the Led strip or even the screen. Directly from the input from the back of the TV

Finding the wrong part at a loooong led strip, part works fine, part flickers, all parallel...
        by edugimeno
        Hi There!
I'm trying to help my friend who owns a restaurant be just bought.
He has a very long LED strip running along all the walls and columns. The strip is attached facing down 2in above the floor, using a wall panel that ends in a metal rail that finishes the panel underneath
It's stuck using, I guess, the 2 sided tape that comes with the strip
The issue is that like 1/2 of the full length, including 1/2 one wall, another entire wall, and one column, flickers after 4 or 5 minutes ON. Particularly it flashes staying OFF most of the time and flashing ON for 1 tenth...

LED Strip test points and testing?
        by lmcancu
Hi is there a guide in this forum on how to test the LED backlight TV strips? I purchased an LED tester on amazon, but I am a bit confused on the test points and how to test the individual LEDs? I took apart a RCA 43" TV Rlded4331b. Please see attached pictures. I understand that all the LEDs are in series, but on these strips I don't see any individual test points for each LED? Any tips or guides?
        Thanks in advance...

SHARP LC-32CHF5111K - stuck at color test mode
        by YellowJacket
        Hi friends,

TV has stuck at - as I googled the term - color test mode. Slowly flashing colors white, red, green, blue, black, over and over again. I tried some hints from internet, like pressing some remote buttons, but nothing worked. I also tried factory reset for Sharp TVs => "while holding vol– & input buttons on tv plug in set when “k” appears push vol– & chan- " , but TV doesn't even start during buttons pressed.
So I decided to flash new firmware to SPI ROM. What do you say, would it help? If so, where can I find some dump? I was unable to find...

How Can I test PWM DM0365R?
        by chth96
        Hello
I have power adaptor(220V/input, 12V 1.2A/output) which has symptom of fluctuating output DC voltage between 11.5V-12.2V.
So I opened its plastic case and when switched it on, I heard constant tik tik sound from inside its PCB.
I measured DC voltage between negative and positive pin of the largest capacitor(400v 10uf) and it was measured contant 300V.
I also measured ESR value of all capacitors and I noticed that one of capacitor(KMG 16v 470uf), which located in the secondary side, have high ESR value(10 ohm),So I replaced it with same specification NXH capacitor....

test active pfc power with lamp test
        by khelane
        Hello
I have a big problem and that is that in some cases when repairing active pfc power supplies I cannot work with a test lamp. I can only get help with 5 volts standby and for starting and starting I have to work without a lamp and this way there is a possibility of parts exploding and other parts being added.
Sometimes with a multimeter test the problems can be reduced to some extent, but I had several cases that had to be tested on and online and recently two varistors exploded. They had terrible resistance because the power supplies were over 800 watts.
        Is there a way...
