Re: Westinghouse LD-4655VX
Yes. 2 weeks ago today, I was walking my dog and found a Westinghouse ld-4680 tv gently leaning on a empty Vizio box, (apparently to replace the Westinghouse set).
Not many hours on this tv. No dust inside... like new.
Did the troubleshooting thing the wrong way and cooked the left ffc to led assembly.
If that cable works for you, I'll be ordering one next payday.

Re: Westinghouse LD-4655VX
I was given one of these also, same exact problem. I am going to try these cables. thanks guys. One question though, will it pull through the little openings? Is it taped in anywhere? I was going to use the current one to pull the new one through taped to it or something. Or string.Comment

Re: Westinghouse LD-4655VX
Additionally, I have 3 extra cables. I want to keep 1 but that means I have 2 for sale. I'll do $13+ free shipping to anywhere in the US. Just PM me if you want one.
Just three things:
1. This FFC is extra long. you will end up with some slack. I just shoved that up by the mainboard where there was space.
2. If you plug the end of the mianboard end of the FFC in normally (with the pins down and the blue thing facing toward you)... the LED end will need to be upside down... meaning the blue side is inward and the pins are outward... this works fine because that end of the FFC has the pins on the upper part too, you just need to make sure you close the black thing.
3. I didn't try to put the new FFC through the panel like Westinghouse did. That's why I ordered the longest cable possible... I simply routed it around the entire panel assembly.Last edited by shovenose; 06-01-2013, 10:09 AM.Comment

Re: Westinghouse LD-4655VX
Thank you again to everybody in this thread... $15 to fix a nice TV... wow!
My phone's camera seems to make everything purple but it does not look purple in real life... and idk what that white region on the bottom bezel in the photo is perhaps a reflection but it's not there in real life either...
mom and I watched a movie on it yesterday... she kept complaining it was "too big" lol... her tv is 22", before that she had a 17", before that a 12"... lolLast edited by shovenose; 06-01-2013, 10:05 AM.Comment

LED TVs look nice, but wait till you fix a nice 42"~50" 1080p plasma. I've got two in my bedroom (for lack of a better option) and they look really really nice. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Westinghouse LD-4655VX
I had to take the LED bank out. I went to install my new ffc that just arrived today and looking with a magnifying glass it looks fine but just wont stay. The white side of the clip looks raised off the bank and needs resoldering. I tried for 20+ times to get the black clip to hold the ffc and I guess it couldn't handle my repeat attempts. Looking at it now it will be real nerve racking to try an accomplish this. Luckily Im capable of working under a scope at work.Last edited by pallain; 06-08-2013, 10:06 PM.Comment

by NicktronicOk, so I know I know, it's a Westinghouse....lol It's got the backlights but no video. Likely the panel, but I'd like to take some measurements on the buffer board with help from you experts to confirm. See the attached pictures. In pic #1, there's a nice pin reference to use to take some measurements. The large IC in pic #7 gets up to 60degC when the TV is on.
So, backlights, no video, go! 🙂...06-03-2024, 03:21 PM -
by EBWWestinghouse 32" Smart TV (Model: WD32HBR105) . Originally stuck on logo with no response from remote and no firmware file available to flash via USB. Westinghouse Support stated it would require service but that wasn't a cost effective option. I used dental floss to remove the motherboard processor heatsink to identify what make it was (Mstar). Unfortunately that knowledge didn't help with a solution. After the heatsink removal it only displayed a completely white screen. I then decided to replace the motherboard with a universal 3-in-1 board but the white screen problem continued. This...10-27-2022, 06:32 PM

by SevilleHello all!
Westinghouse TV WD48FAB100 Not Powering On – Burn Mark Found on Power Supply .
I have a Westinghouse LED TV, model WD48FAB100 that is not powering on. Upon removing the back cover, I noticed a burn mark where the AC cord connects to the power supply/main board. In this model, there is only one board combining the two functions. Previous owner said the TV experienced a lightening strike, but who knows. I checked the main fuse, tested OK. Here are a collection of readings from the power supply ports. Looking for some guidance on what to test/check next.... -
by antoniu200Hi! So, I recently had my Plantronics headset die (one 3 pole connector for the mic, another one for the headphones), because of the bad quality potentiometer, so I bought myself a new headset: a JBL Tune 500 (one 4 pole connector for both the mic and headphones). All great and dandy, until I notice a subtle buzz sound (~60Hz, very, very low dB) coming out of them when I connected them to my PC, but the sound wasn't present on my phone. Now, the first thing I tried was replacing my front 3.5mm jacks. After replacing them, the sound was still there.
Did some digging, and found out...Front Panel PCB0%03.5mm front sockets0%0The adapter0%0Plantronics headset had a ground loop isolator (hence the quieter sound coming out of them)0%0-

by JayPoorJayHi All... Me again. Begging for help. The guy who now believes it's possible to fix a TV (one of the millions) one can find on the streets of NYC. I hate hate hate waste...
Thanks to y'all's help I fixed and am happily watching a 70inch Sharp Aquos. Perfect. Learned a lot, replaced LEDs. Pulled screen/panel. Proud.
This is a newer set. It's a Westinghouse Roku WR58UX4019. It was RIGHT outside my place literally, and I couldn't resist. 58in. 500$ new, but I'm not a rich man. So, I want to try.
There is sound. It turns off and on. Screen is black. I can... - Loading...
