Re: Samsung PN50A460S4DXZA Vertical black lines
Hey cheapshot, are you sure the screen isnt not cracked.. If you DONT think the screen is cracked, then you need to check the ICs and cable on the X buffers boards... along the line of where the black line is... -
Re: Samsung PN50A460S4DXZA Vertical black lines
This is a plasma. Cracked screen can't cause this.
'fraid the panel's dead on this one. Not economical to repair (requires replacement of whole panel.)
Very common on Samsung PDP.Last edited by tom66; 05-17-2013, 05:05 PM.Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

by FirentiosiThanks for offering your assistance with this. I'm an electronics enthusiast with moderate level of competence (have a decent lab with two power supplies, microscope, DSO, hot air, good iron, can competently work at a component level on SMDs, design and solder own PCBs etc). I really enjoying fixing things and learning new stuff so took up a free 58" LED TV and have been googling and watching Youtube videos to see if I can fix this! I am happy to go down to individual component replacement/strip replacement etc - it's all in the name of learning.
The issues are as follows: the...2 Photos -
by Stanley1843Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesn’t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed...

by Ancient1Hi
Asking for a friend.
I'm used to black vertical line in otherwise good image - probable solution is a rubber to push and tighten the COFs bonding.
but here its the opposite !
TV has new T-con = same issue
A missing panel voltage would have global effect
So , what should one do ? how can I find where the fault is ?
Thanks !... -
by x_orange90_xI posted about this previously but didn't get any response, and I have some troubleshooted a bit so I have more info.
The screen is full of horizontal "gaps" or lines that distort the picture badly, and after about 10 seconds of powering it on the screen starts to fill with red vertical bars that take on the horizontal pattern. After the screen filled with the red bars, they instantly vanished and then slowly started to reappear. I initially thought it was tab bonding failure, but after getting down to them and pressing each one I find zero change in the picture. I went... - Loading...
