    Philips 42PFL7422D/37 screen issue

Somebody is selling this TV with this picture issue and I'm not sure what to think of it.
Panel issue? I never had a Philips with bad panel.

    Re: Philips 42PFL7422D/37 screen issue

The ghosting / and black void would seem to indicate one of the voltages (similar to sustain / or refresh) is not reaching that part of the screen. I think that generally means tab bonding issues or tcon. I don't think ive read of 37" sets anywhere having tab issues, but in theory any tv can develop the issue if handled very bizarrely.

Hopefully someone else knows more. You may want to confirm with the seller that the ghosting affect of the text / and the black void area is part of the error symptoms and not just from the camera.
Fixed so far 12 lcd's , 1 plasmas, 5 monitors, 0 dlp's (plan to keep the dlps at 0). and 3 atx power supplies, and 2 motherboards.

The TV is a 42", not 37". I can ask him about that, thanks.

Appears both 42" and 37" LG.Display panels had a few minor issues with tab bonds, I have had it before.

This looks exactly like the 37" Vizio I just posted about earlier this week with the 37" LG display. Hoping to tear it completely apart sometime soon.

Dynabook Satellite Pro C50D-B-100 - BIOS Issue, Black Screen
              by wizard13
              Hello everyone,

I am experiencing a BIOS-related issue with my Dynabook Satellite Pro C50D-B-100. When I power on the laptop, the screen stays black, and there is no response from the system. I suspect a corrupted BIOS.

I have checked the forum and the available documentation but could not find a solution specific to my issue.

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen
              by Ryan.man
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

HELP - Contrast/brightness issue with subtitles on screen
              by cloudy
              Hi everybody
Since day one I'm having an unpleasant contrast/brightness issue on my Asus laptop.
Basically while watching movies, if subtitles appear on screen, the contrast or the brightness of the entire screen increases a lot (not sure if it'is brightness or contrast), disturbing the viewing of the movie.

Last year I replaced my screen because got damaged and this contrast/brigthness issue persists. It happens only on the laptop screen, in fact If i plug an external HDMI screen the issue does not occour on it.

It occours both on ubuntu and windows...

Samsung UE48JU7000 screen issue after backlight replacement
              by ScHAmPi
              Hi all,

Because of two bright spots and a couple of dark spots I decided to replace the backlights in my Samsung UE48JU7000. See attached photos:

I thought all went well, but after full assembly and testing it out it turns out not all is fine. The backlights are completely fine but I have some weird issues on the right half of the screen. Since I didn't really touch the T-CON board (apart from taking out the ribbons of the display and reconnecting them on assembly) it would be weird that the issue is with the T-CON board... But based on the behavior of the service...

iphone XS turns off when press on screen.
              by smic717394
              Hi,

I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. I open the phone again, and I can't see anything major, with the phone open, if I press on the logic board, battery, charging board, or even putting pressure on...
