    Another Screen Question

    Hi

Just a quick question and to get a bit better understanding of when/why screens fail, did read a post that tom replied with how they work which was very educational.

What I cant get my head round is for example

you turn the tv on, the screen is shadowing fading in and out, white patches appear etc etc..leave the tv on for 30minutes doing this then all of a sudden you get a cracking 1080p picture that looks perfect.

Why do they do that? And is this always a fault with the lcd panel (and a tab bodge didnt fix it)

    Thanks in advance

Heat. Things expand when they get hot. The loose contact somewhere finally makes a good connection.

      Fully understand, but!

When you turn the tv off for 1second, turn it back on and have to go though the same 30minute cycle until the screen is perfect again, it surely cant of cooled that quickly

The devices are very small (contact area of a few hundreths of a millimeter) so yes, they can cool that quickly.
