    Phillips 47PFL5422D Screen flicker

I bout a non working Phillips LCD. At first it had no picture at all. I first replaced the 4 Caps recommended in other threads. After that when I turned the power on it would just click every half second. I then also replace the two Diode juts below one of the transformers. It now turns on but at random it will flicker. And it also appears to segment the screen in 1/4's starting from the top down. Then at times the picture is perfect. Any suggestions?

This may be a tab bond problem, but can you check from the rear of the set to see if the backlight is staying on or if it is going off? You should be able to see the backlight through the holes in the panel.

I should clarify, When I say flicker it actually never goes dark. I also noticed if I tap the frame it does seem to affect the flickering. I also now notice on darker movies/show there appears to be a slightly darker area of the screen.

You have a bad tab bond then.
        It is repairable, but difficult.
This is a different fault, but the root cause is the same:

Did exactly as the video demonstrated and found when I would push on one of the tabs the screen would flicker. Used some rubber under the tab ribbon and now it seems to be working fine. Thank You!!

Glad to hear it's fixed. It is often recommended to put shims under each side. If the right tab failed, then apply a shim to the left tab too.
Also, can you tell us who made the LCD panel in this TV? LG Display/LG Philips? Or another manufacturer?

How do I determine the maker of the panel?

It's written on the panel sticker. A picture of the chassis and I will highlight where it is.

I wish people posting would finish the discussion before they disappear with out a word, but they get what they come for and go.

Anyways that video is awesome, I did NOT know you can do that and I have tossed maybe 10 of those Sanyo TVs. I still have a few I can test it on.

norcal715 sure does have some good YouTube videos.

I am working on a Philips 47PFL5422D/37 but my power board is bad so I will continue on the correct thread for this issue.

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen
                    by Ryan.man
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

iphone XS turns off when press on screen.

                    Hi,

I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. I open the phone again, and I can't see anything major, with the phone open, if I press on the logic board, battery, charging board, or even putting pressure on...

This isn't my video but it's a fair representation of the fault I have, starts with slight screen flicker as the set warms up which happens every 5 seconds or so that gets more regular until more or less constant https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Un8cAjUtOvA was thinking T-Con but open to any other ideas as seems to be quite a common fault on these

                    Samsung UE55JU6800K half screen dark
                    by Chrissygizmo
Hello everyone, I’ve just been given a Samsung UE55JU6800K smart tv as it had white spots on the screen due to the led lenses falling off. After refitting them & putting the tv back together I thought it was a nice easy fix for a free bedroom tv , then I tried it before screwing the back into place. I realised that the right side of the screen was darker than the other side, I removed the screen again as I thought the backlights had failed but they are fine.
I put the screen back in place & turned it back on . The screen seemed to be ok again but different screens on the same...

Vizio TV M50-C1 reboot cycle and static on screen
                    by spice_disc
I'm currently trying to diagnose and fix my Vizio TV (Model M50-C1). I've tried a number of different basic solutions, but I'm trying to determine if my issue is currently a failing panel, T-Con board, or main board (or something else entirely) and whether or not it is worth my time to fix it. Details of the issue and what I've tried are below as well as why I think it is either a bad panel, T-Con board, or main board.

The Issue: The TV will be on and working fine but after the TV is on for ~5-10 minutes the screen will freeze (with sound continuing) until the TV reboots itself. While...
