Adjust all voltages to panel spec, then you need to install maldischarge ROM using LG JIG. There is a reason I do not pick up these TVs.

So since I don't have the jig is it replacing the control board? I tried turning down Va and Vs slightly with no change.

Replacing the control board most likely won't help. You need the jig or another programming device to flash the EEPROM. The jig is around $160.

Is your panel a PDP42X3? 42V7 is the only panel version I couldn't flash successfully. I know others have had issues with 42V7's, also.

Panel is PDP42X30401. It's not worth spending on that kind of $ on the jig, Im so happy it's working at this point after getting that IC out of the board.

42X3's clean up nicely when the control boards are flashed. I've done a few. Enjoy your TV.

Man, I have 4 LGs that probably need their IPMs replaced... at least I got them free... But now I don't know if I might need that Jig as well....

I'm not sure but I think that is a different jig for updating firmware via the VGA port.

yes i think your right looking at this other ebay link looks like some other leads etc would be needed to make it work so may not be a good buy after all
