Re: LG 42ld450 blinking red light

i didnt reflow it properly, just baked it in house oven. wanted to see if it would work now that it does i know was for sure just main board and rest of tv is functioning fine. i have a buddy at a local shop will reball for $25 i might just go that route save $60 on getting a used main board off ebay.

so far nice tv , trying to find a way into service menu to enable divx playback. from what i have read i will need to get a universal remote to access service menu.

MENU on TV then MENU on remote, hold both for 10 seconds. You will need a remote: any LG remote made in the last 10 years should work.

Yeah, you need a remote as you have to hold both MENU on remote and MENU on the TV. The local 99p store sells remotes which operate LG TVs. Do you have a similar shop in the US?

I have 42ld450 with red blinking issue. When I was watching TV suddenly sound and picture went off. I turn off/on Tv but red light blinking continuously. There is no backlight, no picture or sound. I checked DC voltage output from powerboard, all seems ok. There is a switch on logic board, when I press it, backlights turn on for an half second then goes off. Do you have any idea?

Regarding the USB "hack" to play videos, see the comment section of this link:

"i have a philips magnavox universal remote. i programmed it to work with my tv. on the remote i have a prog/ guide button. when you press it, tv will ask for password, in my case is 0413 (latest firmware). the service menu will appear. go to tool option3 and change divx value to 1. DONE"

                Cheers!

Hi, my friend has the same model TV which had the same exact issue.

We checked the power supply voltages, all fine. Then we measued all 3 voltage regulators on the main board (IC2700, IC8800, IC8901), which were fine as well.

So finally we decided there's nothing to lose and stuck the main board into a home oven preheated to 240°C for 3mins. Much to our surprise, the TV works now

It's a pity that the manufacturers have such a poor rate of failure. I don't think lead free solder helps.
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

Re: LG 42ld450 blinking red light

I have 2 of this generation LG tv, one 32ld650 and one 42ld650, that I keep only because they are connected to the wireless dongle.

Both have the same issue, the power light blinks but won't start. I tried to reflow the main video processor several times on both tv with no success, every time I end heating it in the electric oven (pre-heated to 385F, 5min), and that fix last about a year.

I believe this is different of the no hdmi issue, and is not the bga solder of the video processor.

I have the above tv that just shows a red light blinking twice 5 times, i have taken the back off and all the capacitors seem ok,
When i disconnect the mainboard from the PSU all the led's light up blinking fast but as soon as i reconnect the mainboard back to the power supply i get the red light blinking again twice 5 times,
I have attached pictures of the Mainboard, PSU and a small video (zipped) showing what happens when i disconnect the lead from the psu
                        Any help would be appreciated...

                        Hello,

We have this set here in our shop that is not ginving sign of life besides red light that is blinking one time after pressing the button and nothing more... After detaching the mainboard from the PSU (this set has separate board thank god?! or not...) the backlight comes on. After reattaching nothing besides red light.... Can anyone from the forum help me here? Thank you in advance. Here's a link with images of the mainboard and the memory IC's that are on it.

                        Regards, Norbert!...

The board is daox8cmb6eo and i can't find no boardview or schematics on the forum or anywhere...

So i plug in the charger, amber light starts blinking ,there is 3.3V and 5V present, and 2.4V on the power button, board doesn't turn on, no shorts...
                        I've tried flashing the bios...

interesting thing is the battery was around 7,8V, and it's 11.1V battery, the mosfet near the battery is open, but not charging,i desoldered it,tested it and it's fine ,but the amber light kept going on the charger so i charged the battery with power supply and got it to about 10.5V...

I have the i9 version. I have tried disabling intel and Nvidia graphics in the device manager.
The laptop is just out of warranty.
The laptop continues to freeze randomly with the blinking amber charging light.
What could be possibly wrong with it?
I have also disable armoury crate in bios.

Asus X453MA won't turn on and green led light blinking
                        by jxrepman
                        Hi there,

I have this ASUS X453MA Laptop that's not turning on. When I plug in the charger, the green light just keeps on blinking and pressing the power button does nothing.

I have checked the charger and it is giving 19+ V

I have disconnected the battery and pressed power button for 30 seconds.

                        I tried another RAM stick.

Tried disconnecting the keyboard and touchpad.

Tried disconnecting the HDD and the wifi adapter.

                        The problem persists.

Hope you could help me out on this one. Thank you.
