    LG 50PC3D-UD plasma power issues

I have an LG 50PC3D-UD which I am having problems with the power supply. The previous owner replaced the power supply with an alternate replacement board. I obtained the TV when the Y Buffer boards started to go out.

While I was troubleshooting the system with the back panel off two mosfets overheated and blew the secondary fuse on the power supply. The mosfets also shorted. I replaced both mosfets and the fuse but still no power up.

When I do a power up voltage test I'm not getting 3.4v from 2 connections which I should be. On the pictures those would be p801 2nd 3.4v from bottom, and p802 3.4v. All other voltages show what they should.

I have tested with the Y board disconnected, with the Z board disconnected and also with both boards disconnected.

I also noted that I get no change if I remove the secondary fuse and power on. I've tested the fuse and changed it 3 times just to be sure.

Here are a couple more pictures which show the replaced mosfets and paths on backside. Thanks in advance for any help here.

Also, the power supply was replaced with an alternate supply by a previous owners repair. It is the power supply from a 50PC5D.

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

      Assuming...

Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 - no power
      by PantherDave
      Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

      Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74 power issue

      Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

hey guys, hoping for some pointers to repair an eBay bought "faulty" laptop.

Ill try and give as much info as I can.

      Dell Inspiron 17 (7786) Laptop
      Service Tag: 5J0NHT2
      Bios: 1.9.0

When I received this , it would only flicker on the KB backlight for a second, then off and on.
      Then it started getting weirder!
Sometimes when attaching the AC power supply, and pressing various pre-boot diagnostic keyboard keys... it did try to boot, in fact out of a hundred attempts, the laptop did actually boot into the Bios ! but never has...

      Original NES power issues
      by sli4
I recently turned on my old NES to find the red light won't go on at all. When powered on it shows black bars on the tv and a loud buzz through the tv speakers. Powering it off, the buzz goes away and tv goes back to normal (white snow).

I tested the power supply itself and it is outputting 9V as it should - first two solder joints on the board at the power port show the same.

Here's where it starts getting funky - When powered on, one side of the 7805 voltage regulator is showing 18V and the other is about 8.7V (center 0).

On the big blue connector I get...
