    LG 42LE5400 Image Problem

We have a LG 42LE5400 that has a two darker sections (one six inch vertical and the other one is about four inches) of the screen starting in the middle and there is a second one on the far right of the screen. They darker sections still contain the images fed to the TV, but they are not a bright or in a lower quality of image. The problem started after the tv was accidentally splashed by a garden hose. It was not a direct hit. Rather is was slightly sprayed by the hose. I think the problem is either the a/v board or the actual screen/panel. Is there a quick way to diagnose between the two? Also when you input screen is not active (e.g., whatever is being fed the hdmi, etc) and the onscreen menus are on the screen, you can still see the darker sections of the screen.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance

The tab bonding may have been damaged by corrosion, see example here:

yes. The tv is apart. I did notice and corrosion or any electrical components that appeared burned or shorted out.

The simplest/fastest way is to try a similar screen panel and see..I know you may not have one

            Re: LG 42LE5400 Image Problem

I recovered an LCD TV that had been taken to the garbage tip because of the infamous power supply capacitor issue. We'd had some rain during the week and the panel had been face up to the rain. On intial startup it was apparent that it had water ingress into the panel laminations. I place it in direct summmer sunlight for about 6 hours and when I fired it up I found that a significant amount of water shadowing had disappeared. I repeated the process for about a week and most of the water appeared to evaporate out. It's not perfect but most people don't notice the imperfection unless it's pointed out to them. Maybe worth trying because your description certainly sounds like water ingress into the panel.

              Hi guys
I'm trying to fix this laptop screen

Basically the owner is a computer shop and they brought it to me with two screens. They said the repair shop they use could not fix it, so I thought i would try to see if I am better than their current repairer!

OK so I have the original screen which works but has lines across the bottom quarter of the screen

I have the replacement screen, which they fitted and it worked. They then put the laptop on one side for a couple of weeks until they found a buyer. When they showed it to the buyer, the screen would...

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen
              by Ryan.man
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

iphone XS turns off when press on screen.
              by smic717394
              Hi,

I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. I open the phone again, and I can't see anything major, with the phone open, if I press on the logic board, battery, charging board, or even putting pressure on...

Fluke 123 no image on the screen
              by Khoja
              Hello experts,

I recently purchased a used Fluke 123 Industrial Scopemeter from an online Japanese auction site (jauce.com). It has now been delivered. Unfortunately, I overlooked the fact that the seller neither guarantees its working condition nor accepts returns.

When I power it on, the backlight comes on, but there is no image on the screen. After opening the device, I noticed clear signs of previous soldering in several areas (photos attached). It seems someone attempted repairs before.

At this point, I'll have to try and fix it myself. Has anyone here...
