    Vizio M3D421SR speakers needed

    Hi,

I recently acquired this Vizio M3D421SR tv. The main board was just repaired by a service advertised on e-bay (great service by the way!).
The internal speakers are missing from the set. Everything else works on the set including the external audio jack. I want to install the speakers.
Since it's an led edge lit set, the area for the speakers is not very deep.
    Does anyone have:

Vizio part numbers for the speakers or a model number of another Vizio with the same speakers. There are some on e-bay but I don't know if they will match.

The other option is that someone out there has the same model with a broken screen that they are stripping for parts - in that case please contact me.

The two photos show the rear of the set and speaker area below the main board.
The speakers fit in an area that is 7 1/8" long and 1 3/16" wide. The mounting holes are 8" center to center and looks like they are centered to the width of the speaker. It's a little tough to determine the maximum height of the speaker but it looks to be about 1".
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Mike

This is the best thing I could find:

Can't make out any numbers but at least you can see it somewhat.

post a picture of the plug for the speakers on the main board. What is the height and width dimension for the speakers? I have a 47" and 42" vizios with cracked screens that i have already ebayed the boards.

        Mr. Bill and Marty,

Thanks for replying to the post.
Regarding the plug - I've put the back on the set already, but it's a 4 pin plug and the spacing of the pins looks like 2 mm apart. The connector is on the edge of the board. I'll make something if I have to or adapt another plug. Not that concerned about them plugging in without modifications.
Since the speakers are missing the only info I can give you is what I wrote in my original post.

The other Vizio speakers I've seen look like they have little enclosures built around them. However, in the picture that Marty posted it looks like the magnet is exposed. My guess is that they fit snugly in the above area.

        Thanks again,
        Mike

              Keith,

I'm still looking for the speakers or even a part number. I contacted Vizio and even did a live chat without much success.
Are the speakers also missing in your set? Or is that some common failure?
I'm assuming you have the same model.
I was hoping to find another Vizio set that also used these speakers to increase the chances of finding a parts tv.
              Let's keep in touch.

              Mike

                  Re: Vizio M3D421SR speakers needed

This is a tough one to find for some reason. I sis find the user manual, which is good for the following models:

                  M3d420SR / M3d421SR / M3d460SR / M3d550SR

That wouldn't guarantee matching speakers but it's a start I suppose.

One other suggestion: Find sellers on ebay that have parts listed for your model(or alternate) and send them a question asking if they still have the speakers. They may just have them!

This seller has multiple parts listed for a M3d421SR so worth a try.

                    Marty,

                    Thanks for your suggestions.
I also found the manual and contacted the e-bay seller you mentioned.
Just waiting to hear back from him.
I'll keep looking and report back on my progress.
There has to be a broken screen set out there being stripped for parts!

                      Keith,

Can you post any part numbers you find printed on your speakers?
I think it would help in the search.
I can't even get a part number from Vizio!

                      Thanks,
                      Mike

                        Update

After a lot of searching on Ebay I finally found speakers for the M3d421SR.
I purchased speakers from a broken screen M3d550SR and they appear to be an exact fit.
The M3d421SR speakers have the part number 78G120A-43-YA
and the M3d550SR speakers have the part number 78G120A-43-Y

The above speakers fit correctly in the opening, the mounting holes match, the cable is long enough to reach the main board and the plug is the same.
                        Hope this helps someone else.

                        Mike

More Lo-Fi speakers and another DIY surround repair. The patient this time: a pair of Philips F9217L-50R speakers from a budget Philips rack/component system from the '80's. The system belongs to my brother in-law… or actually his parents. However, they didn't want it when they moved houses and he liked it anyways, so he ended up keeping it. It's a pretty cool-looking vintage system with a wood/veneer cabinet and shelves for records and cassettes. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to take a picture of it or get the model #'s (but maybe next time I visit, if anyone is curious?)

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                          by Robin21
                          Hello,

Does anyone have a motherboard from the Lenovo T490 model FT490/FT492/FT590/FT531 NM-B901 and could take a picture of the CPU area, including all the components around it? I would be very grateful.

During the CPU replacement process, I messed up all the resistors and capacitors, and now I can't get it to work again. The motherboard was powering up before, but now it doesn't, even with the newly installed CPU. All voltages are okay, and I don't have any shorts, so I'm assuming I'm missing one of the resistors.

I've also followed the schematic and Broadview,...
