Panasonic TH-P50V20A_ Lightning strike HDMI 1 gone

Real bad luck tonight. Had a lightning strike just outside the home and it looks like it may have spiked through the antenna.

I have a Beyonwiz PVR which was connected at HDMI 1 on the Pana TV.

We now have no antenna working, HDMI gone on the PVR and the corresponding HDMI port on the TV now also no good.

Has anyone attempted repairing a HDMI port or been faced with a similar situation. What blows?

The TV has 4 HDMI in total of which it appears 2-4 are still functioning.

PVR only has VGA and component now left as fuctional.

Half the breakers in the house popped. It was a beauty!

I would say the only way you could repair this would be replacement of the associated HDMI processor. Often, said device is not commercially available due to HDCP restrictions.
Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Hmmm, nothing is ever straight forward. I don't need 4 ports so lucky I guess and just live with it.

Strange how only one port is damaged I'd expect the whole chip to go.

The weird thing about the PVR it can still read the EDID from my other panasonic, and that's it. Abosulutely no burns or visible damage.

Can't test the tuner, still waiting for the antenna guy.

They don't sell those chips due to security and copyright issues. I heard those chips can be used to extract, decrypt and copy dvds, bootlegged movies, etc.
