Not sure the 'Re-work' is applicable in your case but really need to compare the board schematics against the voltage readings to determine.

The diodes and mosfets can be tested, but would think they would be either good or completely dead rather than intermittent faulty which is the problem you are having.

G'day all,
I'm back from holidays, hope you are all well.

Since being home I've had time to do some repairing/ investigating.
I replaced the 2 capacitors as per attachment in post #14 in this thread, and carried out the rework as per the attachment in post #20.

I also resoldered all the larger joints such as the transformer joints, large cap joints and any that looked like they'd 'sweat'.

The TV seems to be working fine now. It turns on from the on/off switch without any errors, and also turns on from standby mode as well.

I also took the voltage readings again as I had missed a couple from each ribbon connector.
Here are the results as follows;

Glad to hear back from you, hope all is well!
It might be worth just using the Tv as normal over the next few weeks and pay attention to any abnormal behaviour, just in case the symptoms come back.

Your findings will always be here for reference at a later date if similar problems occur and you'll have these notes as a starting point.

If its working theres not really a lot more you can do other than enjoy Tv viewing.

Still, it may be worth making a note of the voltages with the Tv in standby, if you do come back in a few weeks/months with the same/similar fault then chances are the Tv won't be powering on, stuck in standby, so knowing what the voltages should be (when it is working) would perhaps help you in future troubleshooting. Update here those voltages for your ref and ours to assist later, if need be.

I have the same problem and follow post #14 to replace the capacitors 100nF (2179) and change 22nF to 47nF(2165), no other component need to replace. My TV is working normally. Thanks.

Hi Graeme, I am having exactly the same issues with my 47PFL9703D TV as you did and would like to try to get it fixed if at all possible.

As a new forum member, I cannot apparently access the personal e-mail system, so I though the best way to reach out to you would be by posting a reply on this thread.

I would like to try to get one of my local TV repairers to sort the problem out but I would obviously be likely to have a far greater chance of success if I could give them some advice on what to look at and your experience would therefore possibly be the best way to do that.

If you could possibly contact me via the e-mail system and let me have any information that you think might be helpful, that would be hugely appreciated.

Hi,

I'm new to this forum, came across it while searching for a solution for the same problem as mentioned above. I have disassembled my tv, and disconnected the power board. When I turned it around I saw that one of the connections of the inverter transformer on the top left is a bit black. I attached a photo. Do you think the transformer is defect or is it repairable ?

I would take a small wire brush and clean the joint and then remove as much of the lead free "solder" and then re-solder it with good 'ol fashioned lead and tin solder.
You can also use a piece of copper wire to repair the trace if it burned through.
Touch up all the joints that you can, especially The ones that are on parts attached to heatsinks.
