Re: Baird JO37BAIRD(A) No Power
Right, so 5VSB measures 1.7V. This is the fault. What does it measure with the main board installed and with it removed? Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Baird JO37BAIRD(A) No Power

Make sure you're touching the metal shroud around the pin. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Baird JO37BAIRD(A) No Power
It should be connected while making measurements except when indicated otherwise. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Baird JO37BAIRD(A) No Power
how can i measure the voltage on the pins with the cable connected ? but useless i know but thanks alot with the helpComment

Re: Baird JO37BAIRD(A) No Power
There's a small bit of metal around where the pin goes into the connector, that's where to measure. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Baird JO37BAIRD(A) No Power
ok so i stuck the red probe in at the top of where the pin meets the cable and it is returning 1.4-1.7V with the mainboard connected and with the mainboard disconnected its returning the same voltageComment

Re: Baird JO37BAIRD(A) No Power
In which case, I am struggling to see how the user heard of a "pop" from the TV.
Seems like an ordinary start up cap fail or shorted diode.
Remove the power board and test all diodes for shorts. Do you need help with this? Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

This is a diode:

Remove power board from TV.
Locate any components that look like as above.
Test in both directions: you should get a reading in one direction, and a "1" in the other direction. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

ok readings from them are 281, 568, 567, 631, 590, one was reporting back 0 no matter which way i put the probes. had to do it from the underneath of the board as i couldnt get into any of them on top.. have a picture to show which one was reporting back as 0 both waysComment

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by PantherDaveHi all!
I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅
I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

by GLISITHi all,
TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!
I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

by sam_sam_samI have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump
One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy... -
