heres a couple of pictures if it helps, get no red standby light or anything just completly dead, there is a power switch on the back switched on and off, changed power lead to make sure its not something daft like a blown fuse or anything... ideas please

Check the voltage across the capacitor in this picture marked with the green "ROHS 2002/95/EC" sticker, top right.

Careful -- may be up to 400V.

          TV on, all plugged in.
Red lead in Volt/Ohm, black probe in COM.
          600V DC range (or higher.)
          Report reading.
Be very careful not to touch the probes together.

              Re: Baird JO37BAIRD(A) No Power

the capacitor has a positive and negative leads also so make sure you get this right imo you can see the negative markings on the side of the capacitor.(not sure if this makes a difference when testing voltage tom66 will advise).

                    Re: Baird JO37BAIRD(A) No Power

That's about right. So, check all the voltages along these connectors:
                    https://www.badcaps.net/forum/attach...4&d=1363021788

along with the voltage label written next to it.

                      Re: Baird JO37BAIRD(A) No Power

in pic 4 the white plugs does it say any voltage readings by them?
black multimeter lead to a mounting screw by the white plugs then push red lead down the side of each wire in the white plugs then take readings.

Black probe on frame, red probe on each successive pin, meter on 200VDC. Record and post each measurement next to how it is labelled.

ok i put the black probe on the metal chassis and the red probe on each pin but there all reporting back 0V, got multimeter set to 200v DC

only 1 pin is reporting back 1.7V
