Re: 50pg20 Power Cycling When Power Applied

Television has been on all afternoon with no problems... checked most inputs, HD etc.. all seems fine.. If I turn it off via the remote or the main power switch it will begin to cycle.. if I unplug it when its working and then plug it back later in it turns on immediately (no standby, comes right on)..

It sounds temperature sensitive -- you just need to narrow it down to which part exactly.

I would be concerned about my meter if I was using my analog meter.. I'm using a pretty good true RMS meter that has pretty good input protection..

I've tried using a small hair drier.. to locate the problem.. nothing seems to change.. although its pretty hot in here.. I live in Florida.. would be nice if I could bring the Tv outside in the cold, but that's not going to happen right now.. Next will be to break out a can of cold spray and start chasing components..

Ever get that tv fixed? I have one that had a bad lower driver board. Replaced it and now the tv turns on with full pic for a few seconds then turns off. Yet when I disconnect the lower driver board it doesn't cycle. Did I get a faulty lower board or is it that there more draw since both halves of the picture are on?
