Vizio sv370xvt No picture but have sound

    VIZIO SV370XVT - 37" Widescreen 1080p LCD HDTV

I have this television about 1+ years old, the screen glows black, as well as if you look through the vents there is a glow as well. Can change channels and hear sound, just no picture.

Should working electronics/boards look burnt/fried/black? I'm guessing no. It appears to be the power board (via google). Would that cause it?

The close up is on the board on the left

    Yep

That component is fine, probably got a little hot.

The middle board with the big heatsink on it would be a prime suspect in this case.

What is that called then? The main board? Any recommended online parts dealers?

It looks like the motion enhancer, does this TV have 120/240/480Hz function?

That looks like T-CON/motion enchancer/local LED dimming control board.

Re: Vizio sv370xvt No picture but have sound

I have the exact same issue but with a xvt47sv.

The screen 'glows' and the lights are on in the back.

When it's powered up, instead of getting the gray V (vizio) logo on the screen it just shows the 'glow' from the backlight. It's almost as if the backlight isn't turning off properly. The audio comes in fine and it can be powered off and on properly via the remote.

Whatever board that controls the image seems to be the issue. Any idea what board would be the culprit? It's a 240 hz led/lcd TV. Think its the t-con?

            Thanks for any more help.

            The boards look similar;

It's best for you to put that in a separate thread because it's a different model...

By the way, there should be surface mounted fuse/s on that board (the board with two white ribbon cables that go the LCD panel).

Also, I may be wrong, but that looks to use Full LED backlighting... In which case, when playing video, it should be possible to see the LED brightness vary across the panel, even without an image, UNLESS it is the T-con that drives it.

Yes, it does use LED backlights, you can also see that there are wires from the power supply to that T-CON.
There are more than one chassis for this model Vizio sv370xvt. I cannot find much info for this T-CON yet.

                    This is another chassis:

sorry for posting in the same thread, i thought because they were the same model but different screen sizes that the guts were the same. Can a moderator move it to a new thread or should I?

Vizio M65-E0 No Picture, No Sound
                        by ggil44
Hi I inherited a Vizio M65-E0 that isn't working. It must have been dropped on the corner because I found that the infrared circuit had a capacitor with one end broken off of the board and some green corrosion around the plug to the main board. I re-soldered the capacitor and cleaned the corrosion well and tried turning the M65-E0 on and I was successful. My problem is that while the back lights come on and appear to perform local dimming there is no picture or sound. It kind of looks like you are looking at the TV through a very dense fog, where changing the input on the remote will change bright...

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
                        by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                        Assuming...

Samsung TV model UE50TU: rebooting, backlight, sound, but no picture
                        by TR103
                        Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
                        - sound and backlight, but no picture
                        - when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
                        - it keeps rebooting
                        - without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
                        - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
                        - when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.

                        - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel and with a jumpered...

Samsung UN60EH6000F Black Screen, Backlight and Sound Good. Power Cycle Returns Picture
                        by Mgiffune
I have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started β€˜fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.

I ordered a supposedly β€˜new' Tcon board this time, and

Samsung UE60KU6079 backlight okay mainboard responsive, no picture, no sound
                        by Ierwin
                        Hello everyone,
Ive got a UE60KU6079 on the workbench that is giving me some headaches trying to troubleshoot.
The previous owner stated that there had been white dots on the screen which from the description sounded like some lenses fell of the backlight LEDs.
He had opened the TV from the back, trying to get to the backlight, supposedly gave up, reassebled everything and gave the TV to me.
I expected the worst like ripped COF cables or a cracked panel but could not find anything like that yet.
Anyway I still fully expect that there has been something seriously damaged...
