    Vizio P42HDTV10A No picture

So my Dad gave me this tv he's had sitting in his garage because it didn't have a picture. Plugged it in to double check. Opened it up and saw a broken fuse (pic attached)

Is this my problem? and how do i go about fixing this.
    LG board. Pictures attached

    Re: Vizio P42HDTV10A No picture

It's a good start. However, it doesn't actually look broken (as in the fuse wire.) If the unit powers on the fuse is probably good. I'd highly recommend replacing it, though.

This set most likely has dreaded LG IPM failure. This video (not mine) covers dim picture, but it also applies to no picture. You need to find the Y-sus or Z-sus failed board by testing them for shorts. Removing the IPM is very tricky. Soldering a new one in is trivial.

Vizio M65-E0 No Picture, No Sound
      by ggil44
Hi I inherited a Vizio M65-E0 that isn't working. It must have been dropped on the corner because I found that the infrared circuit had a capacitor with one end broken off of the board and some green corrosion around the plug to the main board. I re-soldered the capacitor and cleaned the corrosion well and tried turning the M65-E0 on and I was successful. My problem is that while the back lights come on and appear to perform local dimming there is no picture or sound. It kind of looks like you are looking at the TV through a very dense fog, where changing the input on the remote will change bright...

Vizio m65-c1 picture flashing on and off on the screen
      by maricm
      HI all,
hope someone point to the possible issue before I start buying replacement parts.
Tv starts normal and responds to remote fine, PSU voltages mesured fine 19v was 18.9V under load and 19V with main board disconnected.
Backlight stays on all the time,
      Sound works fine.
screen keeps changing form black to full picture in about 1sec intervals.
Picture looks fine with no visible artifacts.
I have disconnected backlights and flashlight test confirmed that picture is still doing the same.

Vizio M55-E0 won't power on - fuse intact
      by bscottjohnston
      Vizio PSLL241206M inside an M55-E0.

Here's an odd one. Why in the world do I have 76 VAC on the fuse when I have measured 115 VAC on the input power cord? Does this point to something known or simply another SMPS problem I need to run down?...

VIZIO E70-E3 Half picture with half TCON
      by Fly_Among_Stars
      Hi,
      I have a VIZIO E70-E3.
Symptoms: Black screen, no picture, but LED backlights are working.
I probed the power board and voltages are as listed on the board.
      Main board appears fine, too.
I believe the problem is either a bad T-CON board, or connection to LCD, or bad LCD.
There are two separate ribbon cables feeding the LCD.
If both are connected, the screen is black.

If only the ribbon cable that feeds the right side of the screen (when viewed from the front) is disconnected, the left side of the screen shows picture and...
