      Lets try it another way.

Unplug the connector on the Y-Main or X-Main side, leave it connected to PSU.

Probe on the available ends as you have been previously.

pay no attention to the diagonal down right line i drew by mistake, the little circle is the tiny node that says Vs next to it, and it looks like its been tested before, maybe a little burnt?

That should be fine. Looks like a test point to me.

when i put black on a screw slot, and red on the node, i get between 173-175. but when i only put the red one on, the reading are tiny tiny tiny, like less than .1 volts. also the tv is sitting there on, i dont think it would be powered on with less than a tenth of a volt running through it right?

Black on chassis, red on test point. 173V is good.

yes it was black on the screw, red on test point that i circled in pic. when i tried leaving the cord attached to psu, and putting the probes in the end of the cord that should be attached to y board, i got 0.000.

The black should be on the back of the plasma screen, like in one of the screw holes. Are you seeing 173V, or "close to zero" (<0.1V)?

So that's good, the plasma panel voltage sticker will tell you exactly what it should be (near NTSC/PAL and Samsung SDI sticker)

But since it collapses with one board plugged in the problem is with that particular board.

Ok, Y sus unplugged, tv stays on for a bit. when its on, i get 173-174.5 V to the psu board. 70 volts to both the left and right top buffers. 0.1~V on the X board. when Y is plugged in, tv stays on for mayve one second. so it seems like the Y and X are both gone.

It would seem so. I'm guessing it's the same situation with X-main disconnected?
So how did you get that purple picture as described a few posts back?

not really a picture, when both are connected, in a dark room, the screen lights up with a blotchy effect, mostly on top. really only the blotches light up, but only for a second or two. let me try with x disconnected, and y connected.

ok so with only y connected, and with both connected, same result; tv will only stay on for a moment, impossible to check voltages. so, since the buffer board is getting correct voltage while turned, on, so is the psu, those are in working order. the x and y boards, no matter what i do, have little to no voltage at any given time, means they are no good. all i should need, theoretically, are the x and y boards, correct?

However, please note that on some Samsung TVs it is possible for a failed Y-Main to kill the Y-Buffer. Now this is an older chassis: I do not know if this suffers from the particular flaw, but I know many Samsung plasma TVs do.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

I hope this is the right forum to post in despite not technically being a repair, but still a question of swapping boards.

I thought I'd explore the possibility to upgrade an existing working Samsung ue55nu7096u with the logic board (and power board if needed) of a newer model (ue55ru7105k) of the same size and appearance (and resolution). The reason being I'd like the extra inputs of that board including component in, an extra HDMI port and bluetooth. Its panel is broken so I have no use for the board otherwise.

The models launched in 2018 and 2019 respectively....

                                  Hey everyone,

This power supply board is hard to find but there are repair kits available. This board had a blown fuse, FP801S, blown PFC MOSFET, QP802CS and ceramic cap, CP809. I replaced them with parts I already had and tested the rest of the parts that would've come in the repair kit and they were fine. I powered the board up on the bench expecting, in typical Samsung power supply board fashion, to see all my output voltages but, nothing. 0 volts on CNL801, CNM801 and CNT801. The only thing I have is 170vdc on the filter caps. No standby voltage either.

                                  Anybody...

Samsung UN65KU6290F (May 2017); received from local Buy Nothing group. Was listed as "just went dead" and they wanted it gone. I brought it home, didn't notice anything visually wrong with the power supply board, looked up the cost of a new one and that's about as far as it went. Family was tired of tripping on the foot of the set so I decided to dig in and repair or toss.

Can't believe that I didn't check it earlier but I found the main 8 amp fuse blown. Jumped across it with a 10 amp blade style fuse and you can see that it literally exploded inside the second I plugged...
