Re: Samsung s42ax-xb01
ok so with only y connected, and with both connected, same result; tv will only stay on for a moment, impossible to check voltages. so, since the buffer board is getting correct voltage while turned, on, so is the psu, those are in working order. the x and y boards, no matter what i do, have little to no voltage at any given time, means they are no good. all i should need, theoretically, are the x and y boards, correct?

Re: Samsung s42ax-xb01
not really a picture, when both are connected, in a dark room, the screen lights up with a blotchy effect, mostly on top. really only the blotches light up, but only for a second or two. let me try with x disconnected, and y connected.

Re: Samsung s42ax-xb01
Ok, Y sus unplugged, tv stays on for a bit. when its on, i get 173-174.5 V to the psu board. 70 volts to both the left and right top buffers. 0.1~V on the X board. when Y is plugged in, tv stays on for mayve one second. so it seems like the Y and X are both gone.

Re: Samsung s42ax-xb01
yes it was black on the screw, red on test point that i circled in pic. when i tried leaving the cord attached to psu, and putting the probes in the end of the cord that should be attached to y board, i got 0.000.Last edited by Mako; 01-16-2013, 08:26 PM.

Re: Samsung s42ax-xb01
when i put black on a screw slot, and red on the node, i get between 173-175. but when i only put the red one on, the reading are tiny tiny tiny, like less than .1 volts. also the tv is sitting there on, i dont think it would be powered on with less than a tenth of a volt running through it right?

Re: Samsung s42ax-xb01
pay no attention to the diagonal down right line i drew by mistake, the little circle is the tiny node that says Vs next to it, and it looks like its been tested before, maybe a little burnt?...

Re: Samsung s42ax-xb01
ok i found a little node labeled Vs, sticking like a mm or less out of the board, is that what you meant?

Re: Samsung s42ax-xb01
Vscan node, and Vs-adj square with an x with it is all i can find like that, beside little Vs' written next to cords

Re: Samsung s42ax-xb01

Re: Samsung s42ax-xb01
also, strangely, i randomly pressed a few butons on the front while only X was connected, and it beeped when i pressed them, which had neve happened before.

Re: Samsung s42ax-xb01
what do you mean, put the probes into dangling cords?

Re: Samsung s42ax-xb01
after researching more, that didnt seem right, and on the board written was 1 2 vs 1 2, and that made me think the top 2 plugs in the connector were for vs, and since one of the cords was black i put the black one in there, and the red one in the slot beneath it, then plugged it in, getting very small reading for the second or 2 its on, of .1-.2 volts....

Re: Samsung s42ax-xb01
if i did it correctly, which was by putting black into a screw hole, and red onto a node, i got 1.4 v's for the couple seconds it was on.

Re: Samsung s42ax-xb01
tso far what i can find is saying to put the black probe into a mounting hole, and the red probe onto one of those little nodes. is this correct? or do i need to use the empty slots in one of the plugs going from the psu to the y board?

Re: Samsung s42ax-xb01
