Another Craigs List TV LG 55LE5500 LCD

See the attached pictures. Do you think a tab bond problem or T-con board.
This TV looks to have a combined main board and T-con board (expensive).
Seller wants $150, way too much for me. Would you guys take a chance on this one or just let it pass?

Bad panel IMO. Let it go. I focus on <=50" so less loss to be made if all goes wrong.

I see lots of 50 incher's faulty on ebay. The prices they get bid up to is shocking.
I so a faulty 50 inch samsung go for over £200. My honest opinion is any one who pays this amount is just plain nuts. The going accepted rate for non working or faulty flat panel tv's is 50 pence per inch. The thing is though they get bid well past this amount. The reason they get bid up to high amounts is
because of shill bidding, thi s is where family and friends of the seller bid the tv up. Plus other tv repair men will bid just to make you pay big for it! .
I would pay no more than £35 max for a 50 incher that is faulty.

Tv was sold to some other hapless person. I saw another on CL for a working 50" Vizio Plasma that was 5, yes 5 years old and he wanted $900 for it. YIKES! Some people are just in la la land.

The tvs on eBay may be getting bid on by folks with broken sets bidding for parts to get theirs working.

People who do that often buy TVs where they know what the fault is...
Or they re-list it after eliminating all the other possibilities... thus the cycle continues.

I've got a few bargains from eBay. My proudest so far is a 24" LCD monitor (faulty, of course) for £0.06. I set up a snipe on it expecting it to go for far more and I won it for that. Going to pick it up on Wednesday.

That may need spudging , i hate spudging monitors ,i always check monitors for the tell tale spudge marks , feeling round the edge of the cabinet join to feel any rough bits which mean the phantom dabbler has been there before you.

TCL 50S535 bad tcon or panel issue?
                  by x_orange90_x
Just bought this for 10 bucks yesterday hoping to fix it. The guy said water dropped inside from a dehumidifier hose and it started showing black and white vertical bars then went blank. When I got it home and turned it on it came on fine and displayed correctly but I was noticing faint vertical bars in the image. After a little bit I turned it off and back on and it was a black screen again. I opened it up to check for water damage and corrosion but didn't find anything of the sort. I cleaned the ribbons anyway and reconnected them but still got a blank screen. If I disconnect the right side...

Driving a Sharp TCON/panel with a universal main board
                  by advant
This thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.

I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match...

LG OLED77G1PUA - No Video / Audio after a TCON Board change and Software Update
                  by Hakuu
                  Hi There,

This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.

After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.

Got the same exact TCON board from TVPartsToday and replaced it. But didnt transfer the EPPROM data (didnt...

Sony 8K XBR-75Z8H White Screen Vertical Bars Tcon Code. Help Needed🙏
                  by Daren87
                  Hello everyone,

I've recently been given a Sony 8k Z8H. It's got a white screen with two vertical black bars. At times it's given me the 5 blink Tcon code. Testing voltage on the Tcon I can see some low or missing voltage. I've done a basic visual check of cables and the COF. Not seeing anything obvious. The original Tcon seemed to have good caps until turning it over. On the bottom I found maybe 10 caps with both sides of the caps shorting to ground. I thought ok these caps and likely other components on the Tcon are shorted so let's try a replacement Tcon. I just received the...

Lg TCon test pins for screen test
                  by alltvrepairs
                  Hi,
i have a 65 Panasonic TX-65HX710E using vestel 17MB170 main and Lg tcon.

Few drops of water fell probably near COF and have no display. Tried removing tabs but no.part of display present as if tcon fuse open. However 12v is present and tcon can be felt warm enough that supplies are present. Backlight and sound ok.

Anyone knows if this TCon 6870c-0805A has any special test pins for rgb test?

                  Appreciate your help....
