The board is like $83 + $35 shipping ( the lowest i found on ebay) plus 110% on import fees, taxes and duties, we will talking about $250.00, should i repair this monster, 720p, 6 years old, or go for a new set, with 1080p, 3d and the works, for about $1000?

As I said, you can order a new IPM module for (your price $19) With import duty this would still be less than $40 right? Have someone experienced remove the original IPM and install a new one, if you can't desolder it effectively.

the question is what do you want to do? fix or scrap? you have to decide that yourself.

good news, found here in Brasil the exact same board new, for R$178.00, what in US Currency would be about $85.00.
So i decided to purchase and replace my self, tomorrow i will post some pics and results.

Replace those caps with low ESR caps as well while you're in there. Or you the TV will be working on borrowed time.

Sorry, you are talking about the capacitors on the power board?

1-10 how hard would be the soldering?

1 or 2 out of 10.

Your must use low-esr capacitors, and it is highly recommended to avoid electronic shops, as they often mis-label capacitors or order poor quality ones.

A good place is Digikey, Mouser or Newark/Farnell. Panasonic FC, FM or FR are recommended.

Funny, someone else from Brasil said the same thing, then they came back with general purpose caps. Please make sure you get the right ones, I only suggest Panasonic, Rubycon, Nichicon and Chemicon, all others have poor reliability (comparably.) I HIGHLY advise you order them online. Replacement general purpose caps may be worse than the originals.

Make sure to remember where each went, you can read the values off directly (1000uF 35V for example), no need to remove them immediately.

10V 3300uF, 105o. (M)
what is the operating temperature? 105o. (M)?

But all low ESR capacitors are 105°C or higher

Anyway guys, got lucky, found a used one here in BRASIL for about 90 dolars, here is the video after the replacement!

Tom, i already ordered them from DIGIKEY, as soon as they arrive i will be replacing them.
Abou the Z-SUS board, is this a common issue? should i expect it to burn again?
There is another one for sale here, should i get it?

It is a common issue though it occurs more often with the Y-sustain (opposite to Z-sustain) which when failed causes no picture at all.

There's usually enough supply and the typical lifetime of these IPMs is more than 5 years.
