Sharp LCD picture color problem Tcon or main board?

Hey I have a sharp lcd tv thats been acting weird lately. The picture seems like has more red and magenta colors on it. Like everything is tinted mostly near the red. I tried to reset the color settings on the menu but it doesn't change anything. I tried to decrease the red hue on the menu to almost zero and it helps, but its still a little noticable.

Also everytime I turn on the TV I would get random colored lines, but they disappear whenever the picture is moving. I thought it was a panel issue but when I open the main menu, the lines do not affect it and stay under the menu screen.

So is this a tcon or main board issue? I already tried reseating the cables to the tcon board.

On which inputs does it appear like this?
Have you tried HDMI to see if it is the same as composite, etc?

There are 3 HDMI ports that I tried all 3 and it all has the same problem. I haven't tried the others yet

I would guess most likely that these two problems (vertical lines on screen) and the red hue are being caused by one faultly board. If that were true, would it be the tcon?

If the menu appears over the lines, it can't be the t-con. It's very likely to be the main board in this instance.

OK, try this -- may sort out issue. Have had an odd picture problem with a Sharp before, otherwise, they seem pretty reliable. This fixed it:

With the set in STANDBY (RED LED lit) press and hold on the console controls CH- and INPUT.

Then press POWER switch down and wait 10 seconds. Release CH- and input. The set will them power up normally. A small "K" will shortly appear in the top corner of the screen.

Then press VOL- and CH- on the top controls, the service menu should come up.

Scan through the menu pages using the UP and DOWN d-pad controls on the remote. Scan through until you find the page with "EEP CLEARB". Select it using the channel buttons. Do not select "EEP CLEAR"; it must be the "B" variant. Press volume up to select and then enter, wait a few seconds and it should be done.

Then scroll through the rest of the menus and select "FACTORY INI"; select Euro for European version, haven't tried other things yet. Execute the option and wait about 10 seconds. Then power off the TV and power it back on again. You'll need to retune it, but it should work fine.

I also already tried the Factory Ini the other day but it was no help.

I'll try out the "EEP CLEARB"

I can't seem to find that function. I can only see:

              EEP save
              EEP Recover
              Standby Cause Reset
              Setting for Adj

              Should I try EEP recover?

This might be a newer or older model. Mine was LC-32SD1E, just a 720p, 32" LCD.

What is the model number? I will try and find a service guide for this set and upload it.

Unfortunately I could not locate a service manual for this model.
I do not know if EEP RESTORE or EEP SAVE could be the right option but maybe it is worth trying?

Driving a Sharp TCON/panel with a universal main board
                        by advant
This thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.

I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match...

My Oled Tv is 55inch tv, 3 days ago I notice that middle of the screen is getting warmer and on picture I have ghosting, missing red color. Color red was still displaying, but it was not so strong as corners of the screen and watching some movies makes me angry.
Then I get an idea to take it apart and clean boards from dust.
In side of Tv was not so bad, I take compressed air in can, and gently blow up.

Also I was thinking to styrofoam sponge to isolate power board from screen that the middle of the screen will not worm so much. Because Led on screen when gets higher...

Hi everyone. [Sorry for the long, detailed post in advance].

I have a Sharp LC-52E77UN which randomly shuts down--could be within 15 minutes, could be 40 minutes, over 1 hour, it's unpredictable. From reading the service manual, I was able to get into service mode (where the K is displayed), and found the following error flag toggled: "04 Initial Communication Error 4 -- Error reason: To the communication setting reception," which, from contacting an eBay TV repair store, I was told is caused NOT by a bad TCON (which was my first guess), but rather the motherboard....

                        Hello all,
I’ve tried to repair TVs in the past with some luck. Toms repair manuals got taken down and now thats a bit harder.
I picked this TV up hoping for a quick fix. When the TV would power on, only the backlights would come on. The owner told me they heard loud screeching before it shut off. This alone makes me want to think the main board has an issue.
As I researched, I found the TCON/driver boards were an issue on this unit. I went in troubleshooting the TCON but found good voltages on the TCON. I followed shop jimmys guide to test the transistors and they seem okay....

I picked up a 55" TCL 55S451 last week that is not displaying any picture. When it powers on the screen lights up but there is absolutely no picture on it. I can move around the Roku menu with the remote and I can hear it moving around and selecting things. I tried the RESET button on the main board dozens of times as well as the remote bottom combo to reset the tv.

I ordered a replacement main board and power supply from eBay and put them in last night but STILL no picture. I get exactly the same results. The main board in my tv is 30800-000559 40-MR17T4 and the board I received...
