I'm pretty certain that the tcon board has failed. It appears as though there is a signal going in, but nothing coming out. My scope is an old analogue one, so I guess it is possible that the signal coming out is of such high frequency that the scope can't see it at all.

Are there any good sources for a RUNTK5119tpzz tcon board for a Sharp panel. I've googled and any place that ships to Canada is out of stock. partstore.com has it, but they don't ship to Canada.

Any thoughts?

You can try using Discount-Merchant. They have RUNTK5119tpzz tcon board in stock for a Sharp panel, and they do ship internationally.

This is becoming a common issue on these LG units. I've seen about 6-8 of them in the last 2 months come into our shop with the same issue. The issue can be described in the link below and it's a good resource to keep on your bookmark... Essentially the RUNTK5119TP (ZZ) board needs to be replaced as the EPROM gets fried after a few thousand hours.

Perhaps some nice person can copy off the EEPROM and the repair would involve replacement of a new EEPROM, much easier.

The EEPROM's on these seem to be fried... I tried reprogramming them but it's a no go. The older 32" Vizios were easily fixable but this particular part number RUNTK5119TPZZ rom chip is toast on all the ones that I've seen. It would need to be replaced and I can't find a suitable replacement anywhere.

I think the best bet is replacing the board in this case.

Reviving this thread somewhat...

I have access to purchase a 'broken' LG 60LS5750 with what seems to be this exact issue (likely T-con board)... and was wondering if anyone has seen and/or used this kit on Ebay?

They've sold quite a few so, I'm guessing most problems with the board should be resolved with this kit.

Is $100.00 a decent price to pay for this tv? It would be going in a basement rec room.

By the way... this is what the owner says the tv is doing. Powers on fine, then screen either goes black or displays a 'scrambled' picture as shown. Audio is ok.



So... faulty T-con???

Picked this up today, failed within 5min... likely bad solder joint on T-con. Planning to order another one, or the repair kit. Just wondering if anyone has seen/fixed this issue... thanks.
