Panasonic STV 5v sense DG Board Repair

I have had this Panasonic Plasma on me for quite some time. Recently it just went off one fine day. I have been trying to get it fixed but to no avail. The authorized dealer says it will cost me about 300 USD to replace the power board. Alternatively have checked with a lot of local micro-electronic dealers but they are not that bothered about fixing it.

i did a bit of online searching and the error i found is the 'STV 5v sense DG Board'.

I don't know what it means or what is to be changed or fixed.

Any Help will be appreciated. The model is THP42X10D. Panasonic Viera.

    Thanks

When turned on, the light should go green, then flash red.

Count how many times the red light blinks and tell us. The light should have a blink every 0.3 seconds, then pause 3 seconds before repeating the code.

It can also indicate "No particular check point", i.e. general error.

so what does one do to get it fixed. The panasonic guys said that the power supply is gone bad and the whole card needs to be replaced. i was wondering if there is a way to find out if there is any specific component that has gone bad and can be replaced.

I doubt it's the power supply. The DG board would be a good guess, but does this TV also have an "A" board?

sorry for the late reply. The DG board is what the various websites say. how does one figure out which component has gone off.

also could you clarify on what an "A" board is...maybe then i can shed some light on that.

It may be present on only newer Panasonic sets but the "A" board has the video inputs AND HDMI on it.

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Panasonic switching power supply daughter board has two 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors which I do not keep in stock
                        by sam_sam_sam
I did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow

This is one of the shit est boards I seen in a very long time and it was the daughter board the traces just lifting off the board I had to use the capacitor leads to repair the the traces and the main board is not any better because I had to repair several traces for the daughter board to the main board

Panasonic TC-P54VT25 No image. A or D board?
                        by canadaboy25
I have a Panasonic TC-P54VT25 that will power on and prime the display but there is no image at all.

The panel is primed as there is a slight glow from the entire panel. This means the problem should be logic related. The service manual also confirms this and recommends replacing the A or the D board.

I have tried to get the TV to display the test sequence but I have been unable to and I don't even know if this TV has a test sequence or not. I tried following tom66's instructions in post #3 on this thread https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=26790. There was...

                        by dajoker
My old plasma died when one night recently. When I got to it it was giving a 3.3v sos (3 blinks).
I chased my way through the PSU, and a board, with no results.
Replacing a few bulged caps in the PSU, I eventually got to the SC board that had piles of shorts, a quick cheap replacement from china and the tv powers up again, except
I only have the right half of the picture.
                        Left half is completely blank.
now the c3 board running this side of the screen has its 3.3 and 5v onto the buffer ic and its got the 60v, so that all seems good.
                        all the other voltage rails...

                        Panasonic SA-MAX770PU SMPSU board fault....
                        by Rictech
                        Hello everyone. 😀

As per thread title, this unit has a serious SMPSU fault. It blows F1001, which is a 10A M205 in the phase from the mains input.
Very first thing I tried, was simply replacing the fuse, but the replacement ceramic fuse blew immediately.

Looking at the schematic for this PSU, I then removed what I thought was the next likely candidate: D1001 - the HV main bridge rectifier.
This isolated the fault(no longer blows the main fuse), but does not point me to the actual fault.
There are no devices that have exploded or otherwise show signs...
