    Re: Panasonic TC-p58s2 no power

tw2005, thanks for your input. Yes, looking at it now, there does appear to be interval of approx. 1 second between the red flashes.

In other words, you're right, it is 1 blink. The interval is steady, no break in the pattern.

So the A-board is the cause? I'm already searching for a replacement.

That brings me to my second question. Are there any websites that will help me cross reference the Panasonic board numbers?

For example, I notice the A board for TC-P58S2 is TNPH0831AE
    The A board for TC-P42C2 is TNPH0831AT

As far I can tell (based on detailed photos from listings) those two board look exactly the same. Can one be safely substituted for the other?

A quick search on shopjimmy, reveals several more "twins", with the exception of the two boards on that page that contain "PX" in their TV model numbers, all those boards are identical (just different shades of PCB color). Yet shopjimmy lists only one "known model" as compatible with each of them.

Would it be risky to substitute any of these boards in question?

You definitely want to steer clear of boards from different sized panels. Maybe a board from the same size Tv and panel model could work but I'm not sure. I have tried swapping a New Zealand board into an Aussie version (same board deifferent rev)and the TV worked but it has the wrong frequency steps due to the different standards so no channels scanned and I do recall a checksum error in the self check which made me wonder if there is model info embedded on the panel?

Edit: I think it looks grim with that size TV.

Well at this price I hate to see it turn out to be something else. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Brand-New-OE...item3cd07b7081

Feedback is quite variable? but 2 of these sold to one buyer, different dates. looks like he's jacked the price recently, was $115 a few weeks ago.

OK, well, I really appreciate your help. And thanks to Tom66 as well.

I do agree that's too steep of a price, but I will be watching eBay like a hawk these coming weeks. Hopefully one will turn up at a lower price.

Finally I got the problem IC8000 is shorting due to the thermal pad contact with the heat sink ; which became loose due to time and the heat beneath so the only solution is to change the board A (mother board) but you have to take extra caution on that heat sink to see that it is firmly in place.
