Power supply diagrams. Have to look for shorts. What happen if you remove the MOSFET you replace? Diconnect CN602 which feeds the Inverter board to see if the shorts are in the inverter board or not, if it does not blow the fuse with CN602 not connected, then the short will be in the inverter circuits. You should make one of this short indicator so you will not keep blowing up new fuses and components.

Sa601 shows overload on the ohmmeter. I just checked all the resistors and one has way too high an value. R614 should show around .39 ohms but I was getting 12 mega ohms with it out of the circuit. While I'm at it what should I check on the inverter board unless the sa601 will cause it to blow a fuse.Comment

@mark, yes you put everything back together in the TV, this box basically put the lamp inseries with the TV, when the lamp is not lit, the resistance will be less than 10 Ohms (100Watts lamp), when the TV is first power up, the lamp will turn bright for seconds as the main cap is charging up then the lamp will dim down again, if the lamp stays bright all the time, then the TV still have short circuits in it.Never stop learning

R614 was the Source resistor I had you check it earlier, now I believe you MOSFET is shorted that is why that resistor blown open, You also need to check that Zener Diode which is in parallel with R614 that I also mention earlier also.

Also overload on the surge absorber is good? So if it would have had a low resistance it would be bad? Am I on the correct path?Comment

Overload (OL) on your Ohm meter means the resistance of the surge to too high for the meter to read the resistance, again, the surge protector should show open (high resistance) circuit, it works but shorting itself out when it is exposed to the surge and spike.
You need to check your MOSFET again since what ever caused it to go bad the first time may be still there so it may have damaged your new MOSFET.Never stop learning

Resistor is blown because too much current flew through it, resistor does not cause the over current situation. Resistor is used for limiting current flow.Never stop learning

Well I checked the power supply on the inverter board and its fried along with parts outside of the power supply. Honestly im thinking its going to need a new inverter board. Which is not worth it.Comment

Dear members,
I have a linear variable power supply with unknown brand name that I used for voltage injection.
Then it failed. I discovered that its transistors (Q1 and Q2) are shorted.
In addition, I discovered that its zener diodes are defective.
I can replace the burned transistors.
But I do not know the model of the zener diodes. the model number is not marked on the zener diodes.
Therefore, I cannot replace the zener diodes.
I do not want to test the zener diodes in a test circuit to discover their model or value.

Hi. I need help from wiser guys. I am amateur in electronics and can't figure this out by myself.
I bought faulty speakers, M-Audio AV40's. Other speaker has all the electronics in it and the other speaker is just passive one powered by the other speaker's amp. Original problem with the speakers was loud buzzing. I figured out that there is something wrong with the capacitors. I went ahead and replaced every electrolytic capacitor on the PCB. The caps are good quality and have the same values as the original ones.

Hello, I disassembled this dead camera, and found this WTF… Two fuses soldered one above the other !
I was pretty sure nobody touched it before, but that can't be from factory. There is flux, and capacitor is probably missing.
The other weird thing : the fuses are « G » fuse : (0.75A – 8V), seems very low. The original fuse should be « O » : (32V 2,5A).
There is « O » mark beside. All fuses have the same mark letter on main board. So, I can deduce it's a « O » fuse.
And this correspond to the issus I saw : when I plug the battery, I measure the voltage dropping... -
Hi I wonder if anyone might be able to steer me in the right direction. I have this Samsung UE46ES8000 TV and it went bang during use. The main fuse on the PSU board is open. I've checked every diode/mosfet/transistor I can see and nothing appears to be short to cause the fuse to go. The DC output of the bridge rectifier is not short either. I've seen online that some of these models are known for having their PFC mosfet or other mosfets shorting and blowing the fuse but i'm not seeing that here. If anyone aware of these models having any issues to cause this? I'm reluctant to just replace the... -
Hi guys,
I'm inexperienced with electronics repairs, I've done a little bit of soldering caps and whatnot, but i have a blown fuse on this mimaki printer I got which I have bought a replacement for.
How do I remove this type of fuse (see picture)...it kinda looks like it would pull out of that bracket but it didn't come at first pull and I didn't want to brute force it incase it's soldered on there like most of the rest of the components.
Anybody know how to remove this type of fuse?
(The fuse is toward the bottom of the image labeled F2)...
