For SMD resistors above or equal to 0603 size (1.6mm x 0.8mm) the value is printed on them using a code.
e.g. 101 indicates 10 x 10^1 or 100 ohms.
e.g. 470 indicates 47 x 10^0 or 47 ohms.

Values smaller than 10 ohms are indicated using a number-number-letter code.

OK so it was a 100 ohms resistor that was bad on control board, that was reading 1.7k ohms?... If not just for me for anyone else that winds up here..

47 ohm that read 1.7k.

This looks like the same picture on my Samsung plasma 50". How do you know what part to order?

You've posted three times already and both of those times I've said it was the X-main.
I'll make it a third: It's the X-main board.

Can you post pictures of the X-main board.

This is the board mounted on the right of the plasma panel (looking from the rear) connected to the orange ribbons.

On it there will be a part number, usually LJ41-xxxxxx[A-Z] indicating which part to order.

Well... that was something i didn't spot. I got sent here following a link in another topic, and i guess i was on page 5 and had a brain fart. It happens.
