    My THIRD Insignia NS-32LCD!!

I was hoping this was going to be yet another simple power supply
issue like the last two, but it was not to be.

This time I used my oscilloscope to check the +24DCV and +5V,
to make sure they were stable, and they were.

The backlight was not working, even with the +24V there, but the
"BLON" (back light on) pin was at zero volts, so I jumpered
this pin to +5V using a 1k ohm resistor, and the lamps turned
on, working just fine, but the screen was a blank black screen,
because the main board wasn't displaying anything, no menu
    or anything.

So it's pretty clear it's a main board issue:

"BLON" (back light on) pin is on the white connector on the right most, bottom
corner. I measured some of the resistors in the lower right corner at +3.3V, but there
were also some areas that measured a weird +16V. WTF??????

But most of the advice here is for SMPS, inverters,
fuses, and caps, but not so much advice for fixing
main boards, so I ain't holding my breath, but just
in case someone knows something about this board,
    I'm naturally all ears......

But it looks like it's Ebay time, yet again!

    Re: My THIRD Insignia NS-32LCD!!

There are several DC-DC converters and voltage regulators. I have had the DC-DC converter fail on a similar Harwa chassis, which caused the TV to lock up then not power on after being turned off.
Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Insignia NS-LCD019-09 issue: Power light turns blue for 3 seconds, the flashes red before going solid read again
      by cajoeg
Hello, I'm new to the group and to trying to repair a LCD TV. During the past few years, I've been collecting/repairing/restoring vintage personal computers (Commodore, Apple II, Atari, TRS-80, Texas Instruments, and Timex Sinclair). This has been my retirement hobby. Now I've gotten interested in trying to repair a LCD TV that I have and used regularly when working on vintage computers.

The LCD I'm working on is a Insignia NS-LCD019. I've downloaded the service manual that I could find, but it must be a different revision since not too many items in the service manual match the TV...

Samsung UE50J6150AS BL_TON OK Screen only little corner lighting up
      by Diah
i got this TV today.. as you can see the screen LCD had only at the corner lighting up, the other round light spot are lens falling down on LED as i can hear it when i move the TV.

i tell the truth i never seen this before.. LED BL yes are little blue but i don't thing it related to this issue as i suspect the T-CON, i saw before T-CON when it work the 2 blue LED on it will lit on.. here only one. even i tested the led and its fine.
voltage on T-CON F1 from both side for me little high 12.55V ( could be indicated open / not complete operation on the T-CON.

      disconnect...

Insignia NS-LCD19-09 no standby LED; (new problem)
      by valvashon
Having a new problem with the 19" Insignia that I modified with one of my automatic turn on circuits. That is now completely disconnected so that is not the issue. I was doing some modifications on that circuitry and managed to short something out on the underside of the power board.
Actually found and bought the service manual (who knew it was even available?!) which brought me to the High Voltage Startup Circuit controller chip.
Looking up that chip number- LD7575APS brought me to the attached datasheet. I have marked my voltage readings on the schematic sheet (open in new...

Insignia NS-50F301NA24 No standby power, no +Va, Vm, +Vl etc.
      by tbsmith
There is voltage on the bridge rectifier and main caps (163V). Fuses all check good. One of the smaller electrolytic caps (C9112 which is 50V, 100uF) looked bloated, it measured 60uF with one tester, and defective with another. I replaced it temporarily with same uF rating, higher voltage since I don't have the exact one. I also found that one of the switching mosfets (for lower voltage DC supply I think) was shorted. It is a 50R800CE which I didn't have, but had something with the same voltage and current rating and a similar Rds. None of these fixes helped. I'm out of ideas. Any suggestions...

Insignia NS-43D420NA20 backlight on no display - LCD panel burn failure
      by howardc64
Eventually discovered a burn mark near lower corner of LCD. Here is a summary
      • Backlight on, no image
      • Disconnect right buffer board (view from front), left side display comes on
      • Masked off pin 7+8 (both ~12,5v on both left and right buffer board) from t-con to right buffer board (view from front) display works but have some lines
      • Buffer board is pretty simple
Removed the front bezel to examine edge of the glass. Found burn mark on lower right (view from front). Plastic bezel covering the burn mark region shows heat signature on the inside surface facing the LCD panel. Last 2 pics. Bright...
