    Sharp LC-42D62U Bad Display

Our Sharp TV LC-42D62U has display issues ( please see pics.)
I replaced the T Con board with a known good one with no improvement.
Any comments as to how to proceed with repairing would be appreciated.
    Thank You in advance.

    Re: Sharp LC-42D62U Bad Display

I note at least some of the noise is blurry.

This almost always indicates it is present in the first decoding stage, which is on the main board. This happens before the video is scaled up, so when it is scaled, the noise gets stretched.

I bet if you try with 720p/1080p source (depending on the resolution of the display), it will look different, if the source is the same as the native resolution, it may even disappear, apart from the stuck pixels.

My guess -- bad RAM on the main board. May be possible to fix it yourself. Otherwise, buy a new main board.

You were correct, replacing the main board fixed the problem.
      Thank You

          Re: Sharp LC-42D62U Bad Display

I have a Sharp LC-42D62U and it SEEMS to have the same issues described above. I will try to attach some images, and give you some description. One day I turned it on and I saw a few "spots" on the screen. It reminded me of what I used to call "snow" on older TVs, but the spots were actually small lines of light color that were pretty stable in their size and position...until you cycle the power. Then the pattern would change. The picture has this problem no matter what input I choose, and when I click input I can see the problem in the window that appears. I have not had a chance to consult a professional repair shop, but from what I read above and on other posts, it sounds like it is NOT the T-con board, but more likely it is the main board. Agreed? (1st question) If so, it seems like my most economical way to go is to have a look at my board and look for one just like it on a site like Shopjimmy.com or Ebay. Agreed? (2nd question). Now for the final question. I have repaired a few laptops successfully, but a LCD TV is new territory for me. If I am grounded and take my time, is changing out the board relatively straight forward? Once done, is there any adjustment/calibration that needs to be done? Sorry if this is all basic stuff, but this is my only TV and really would hate to wait to save up for another one.
Sorry if I should have started a new thread, I am new to this forum and I could not see how to do that.

Looks very similar if not identical to the main board fault described above.
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                Assuming...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't

                Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

Driving a Sharp TCON/panel with a universal main board
                by advant
This thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.

I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match...

                Hi all!
This is my first post and also one of my first "deep dives" into electronic repair. I'm used to doing basic tasks with computers, like SSD/CPU replacement, thermal past re-application, etc. So here's the story...
I have a MacBook Air M1 that I bought to repair (I know, I'm weird; though I'm a CompSci major and want to learn more , and it will not display anything on the internal display. I have verified that there's no backlight, as I booted the laptop and shined a flashlight on it and there's no display; it does completely boot up, and shows fine on an external...
