Vizio E390VL - Inverters/Backlight not service friendly

So I got this Vizio in for repair and it had the 2 seconds to black symptom.
For this normally I would order/work on the power supply but it seemed bare on the inverter side.
It was really bothering me, so I took the LCD and diffusers out (not as easy as the 32" sharp). And behold, the little HV transformers for each bulb. Furthermore, I actually had a broken bulb so replacing is a little more of a pain as they soldered one end to a metal strip. (portable soldering guns are great for this)
Just thought I would share, and I am really hoping the LCD works when it goes back in (i.e. doesn't crack)

MS30834 is the part number that should fit this TV for CCFLs from lcdparts.net

Huh. I have heard of 39" LCDs but never got my hands on one. Who makes the panel in this TV?

Chi Mei makes this one....can't remember the model (not near it right now)

Ugh. Chi Mei panels. Pretty poor. And I thought we were seeing the return of decent LCD panels -- started seeing 32 inch Samsung panels inside Vestel supermarket no-name jobs... but perhaps it would be too good to be true...

Ya but I will give Vizio (if it is Vizio) props for using quality caps in their power supply (not their main though)....but I guess since they can't be plagued with caps they got regulators and eeprom lol

Yeah, it seems odd, Vizio are pretty well built, but die a lot due to main board problems!

Then again, the PSU is bought in from Delta usually... the main board is from amTRAN and is what is usually the cause of failure.

Hey well thought I would post a follow up.
Got the screen in with no problems but did run into a supply problem with the ccfls
Apparently, lcdparts did not have those particular ones in stock :/ but out of chance, I was about to throw away a 39" insignia. Guess what, it had the exact same panel! Go figure haha
So now with nothing in parts invested, this will be a good profit. (Well actually it was a trade for a free repair on another TV)

And a quick side note/laugh - make sure the other side of the LCD is clean before installing - hair does show through the other side :P

Holly cow, balancer transformers INSIDE THE PANEL! They really Do not want you to fix this TV. Good job fixing it.
