Re: Phillips 37PF5521D dead after power cut

Well I blame Tom - he said it wouldnt fix it.
So off we go again. Still high Voltages -( hopefully)What DC voltage do you get on the + and - pins on the big bridge rectifier 6307?
What voltage - not sure if its going to be ac or dc at the connector on the end of the red cable on the Green Board.

340v dc to sb, no voltage on big bridge the relay has to be held on by the feed from standby board[the white socket by relay], was thinking to jump the relay contacts to put a feed on the big bridge to see if that powers up the rest of the power board, what do you think?

Re: Phillips 37PF5521D dead after power cut

Its nothing daft like you have to press the power on switch is it.
I wish you had not cropped the picture of the board if you get the chance please post a full one. Looks like we will also need the back of the brown board.
In the attached pic what voltages do you have 1>2 and 3>4. 5>6 and 7>8.
Please confirm that the area marked relay is the relay.

EDIT - presumably it doesnt click when tv is plugged in?

Philips LCDs are normally red standby, green on -- is yours green always?

The picture of the bottom of the board is not complete -one side and one end is missing
inc the cable connectors and the fuses at both ends. Have you got another one of the full board?

Still doing my head in trying to work out how this chicken/egg standby/startup works.
It may be the photos but a number of joints dont look good. I have marked a few in the attached perhaps have a look with a magnifier and see if any need retouching.Check for others.
I dont know about trying to jump the relay Tom or Budm will be better able to advise.

If you jump the relay, and it is a main board fault, TV will still not power on, as it is not expecting power to be available...

i have looked back at old philips posts and the main power board powers the standby board with the 340vdc , that then drives a 5vdc supply to the main av board, when the power on button is pressed the av board returns the 5vdc to the standby board then it puts a standing 5vdc to the relay on the power board that feeds the large bridge turning on the 12vdc and 24vdc on the rest of the board. i think

hi Tom just seen your post do you think the green standby light coming up tells me the 5vdc is working and the fault could be with the av board?

Since it goes green immediately, that would be my suspect, yeah.

Hi all i pulled the av boards out had a real good look but could see nothing that was obvious and as most of the the board is made up of micro processors and i am not going to spend any cash on it so the philips 37Pf5521d is now extinct R.I.P . Many many thanks to all of you that have helped along the way as it says to the left I am a Knowledge seeker and the one thing i have learnt is to leave philips TVs alone Yours flocko
