You are beating a dead horse. Change the main board and get on with the rest of your life. The main board controls everthing. Jumping this signal or that one or letting it float up and actvate something is not going to get the processor working. The main board is dead. Bury it.

I have changed 2 of them so far. One completely dead like yours and another just half dead, with an intermittent connection under a flat pak chip.

Sorry to hijack this thread but I have this model, the LN32c540. I ordered a main board off ebay for a 550 series. http://www.ebay.com/itm/110893864063...84.m1497.l2649 but the ribbon cable is larger than the zif connector on the board. Where did I goof up?

        Thanks
        Dusty

Samsung TVs have different versions for a given model. You must order the correct version part for the unit you are working on. The version number can be found on the small Model/Serial number tag on the SIDE of the TV. The sticker on the rear may or may not show the version. The version will be something like SQ01, AO03 etc.

If you post the version number, and the FULL model number, I will try to get the proper part number for the board you want.

BN96-16368A is the part number for the board you need. Others will work, but you need to know which ones are suitable, and they usually require reconfiguration in the service menu.

So if I look for the 550 series part would I need to find a CN05 version for it also? I like the idea of the added inputs. I've looked up the BN96-16368A on SJ but its out of stock. Ebay didn't have any listing either.

Unfortunately, the version numbers for Samsung do not operate that way. There is no CN05 version of the 550.

I work on a LOT of Samsung TVs. Unless you absolutely know what you are doing, I would not substitute boards between models. Some are interchangeable, some are not. The 550 is a 1080P model, the 540 is a 720P. These use different panels, and probably different LVDS cables. Substituting the 550 board for a 540 board could quite possibly result in a smoked panel or main board. PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS!!

Issue: No Power, Then Rebooting After Main Board Change

Short answer: replace main board and power board
Technical answer: replace main board and Q306 & Q307 on power board.

                      Long answer:

TV wouldn't turn on. Power switch was fine which means the main board isn't processing the power on signal. Replaced main board. TV turns on now but randomly reboots. Bad main board? EEPROM? Tried to pull main board and got a shock touching the corner of the board. That's weird. C334 (450V 10uf) capacitor is still holding a high charge....

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                      Hi everyone,

I'm working on an Acer Nitro 5 unit with the following specs:
                      • Motherboard: LA-J871P Rev: 1B
                      • Model: Acer AN515-55-59MT

                      Initial Issue

The laptop initially presented graphic issues and driver failure (Code 43) for the GPU.

After preventive maintenance (cleaning, thermal paste, etc.), it powered on normally. We disassembled it again to inspect the GPU, reassembled...

                      by stylishconsultant
                      Hi All,

                      Need help.

I have a samsung un60j620dafxza led tv. When I plug it in it has no display, no sounds, and no standby lights.

So I opened the tv and disconnected the power to the mainboard and the backlight powered up. This according to many people says that this is a mainboard
problem. I checked the voltage coming from the stb and I read 1.3 volts on pins 1,3,5 and 7 which are low volts instead of 13 volts which i think the lcd panel
might be drawing too much power from the power supply that it prevents the right voltage going to the mainboard....

                      Hey everyone,

This power supply board is hard to find but there are repair kits available. This board had a blown fuse, FP801S, blown PFC MOSFET, QP802CS and ceramic cap, CP809. I replaced them with parts I already had and tested the rest of the parts that would've come in the repair kit and they were fine. I powered the board up on the bench expecting, in typical Samsung power supply board fashion, to see all my output voltages but, nothing. 0 volts on CNL801, CNM801 and CNT801. The only thing I have is 170vdc on the filter caps. No standby voltage either.

                      Anybody...
