    50pg20 problem

    Need some help on this one. I've got a 50pg20 plasma that the picture quit on me. Sounds still works just no picture.

    I recently replaced the power board...I also checked it just now and all the readings with a dmm, everything is fine with the power board.

    My YSus board is not heating up, I can physically feel my ZSus board heating up, but my YSus board is ice cold(the heat dissapaters) when I hook up the power. I have checked all voltages both leaving the power board and also all voltages entering the YSus board. Just to be safe, I bought a new YSus board thinking that was the problem. The new YSus board is also ice cold to the touch after hooking up power. Lastly, I disconnected the power in to the YSus board and checked the circuits in the board, all checked out from a pin check.

    What in the world could the problem be that 2 different YSus boards have power in to them but neither will heat up and act like they are working??

      Is screen lit up visibly in a dark room?
      Could be control board or buffer board failure.
      Check Vs supply to Y-sus, should be around 200V.

          Screen will not show any light in a dark room. Vs supply to YSus is good. I've checked it over and over?

          Are there any checks that I can do to control board or buffer board?

              Pull your upper and lower buffer boards. Power up. Does it warm up now? Unplug it and Plug one buffer board in at a time. Try upper first. If still dark disconnect upper an connect lower.
              Did I leave the soldering iron on?

                  Btw you can leave the ribbon cables connected from the panel going to the buffers. Just disconnect the buffers from the y sustain.

                      That is sound advice. Didn't think about doing that. Doing it now, will respond shortly.

                              disconnect all cables from the digital main pwb. then jumper test holes labeled "auto gen" on the control pwb. power on if the screen lites and goes through the test patterns you know everything is good on the display and it is the main pwb that is the issue.

                                      I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

                                      Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

                                      I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

                                      The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

                                      With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                                      I have an LG plasma that after reading through a bunch of posts and doing some testing I believe has a bad YSUS board.                                       Dyson v15 problem with the dust detector board

                                      Hi guys, I have a Dyson v15 that didn’t work. The battery blink 10 times. If i disconnect the cable of the dust detector board, the Dyson turn on but after some seconds stop because didn’t feel the flow of the air because I disconnected the bird sensor, if I connect the Dyson is death. I notice the big mosfet I think with 3 pins. If I check the mosfet I have a short circuit from the center pin ne the left pins…so I think that s the problem or I wrong? The problem I can’t understand what type of mosfet is….someone can help it s hard to find. New board...

                                      Problem

                                      This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....
