Alright so I disassembled it down to the CCFL's, and clicked the power on button. I checked all of the ccfls as they lit up, there was about 24 of them and I noticed that one of them was flickering. Would the flickering CCFL be the cause of this problem?

its the 4th lamp down from the top, the TV turns on, and as the lamp starts to flicker the TV turns back off.

Almost certainly (>90%) the problem. Replace it or do the bypass - your call.

Good news here! Turns out the flickering was due to a loose connection of the ccfl to the side connectors. There was a couple of loose connections than the flickering one, I fixed the connector and rehooked every ccfl, now the TV actually stays on! =) Lets hope it was the only problem, reading alot about this TV i feel the tab bonding problem may arise (lets hope not!)

I hope that fixes it! Nice fix if so...

Someone else on these forums had a similar problem, arcing backlight connector due to it not being completely secured.

So just put everything together, theres a little uneven lighting from the backlights but not too noticable, especially when the picture is playing. But everything is working great!

You probably smudged the screen, it can be cleaned on the inside with a cloth.
