    Sceptre X32SV-KOMODO power light flashing

Pickup this TV today.. Owner says it takes hours and hours before it will power on and it was powered on when I went to get it.. He said once he gets it to turn on, he dont like to shut it off.. When I plug it in the blue power light flashes constantly .. I was hoping to pop it open and find some popped caps, but not my luck.. I did go ahead and replace some caps that I had replacements for (Blue marks on top of caps in pictures).. Its been plugged in for 3 hrs and still flashing power light.. I tried to grab some readings and they are all wacked out.. I hear a slight ticking noise from the area marked in pic #2.. I dont see much on the forums about Sceptre TVs

Re: Sceptre X32SV-KOMODO power light flashing

Can you see a small cap on the primary side... around 10uF to 100uF, 25-50V? That is the startup cap and is a common cause of this problem. Especially if it works after warming up. The small caps virtually never bulge.

You can replace it with a greater capacitance, it will just take a second longer or so to switch on when you plug it in (not really a big deal for testing.) Just the standard blurb - same or greater voltage. Low ESR isn't important.

Check or replace caps by Q201, one of the cap is C209, I cannot read the designator of the small cap next to it.

I dont have any of those caps on hand.. Will get some ordered unless I could get by with a ratshack one for it? The only smaller ones I have on hand are 10uf 50v

It would be fine for testing, but use a decent one for the final repair for longevity.

22uF might be too small to let it start up all the time though. If you have to use 22uF, use two in parallel. More capacitance is fine, it will just take a little longer. I have a PSU where I used a 470uF for the startup, originally 22uF. It takes 2-3 seconds to turn on when you plug it in, but works fine otherwise.

I have a few decent motherboards that I pulled out my puters and upgraded to better MB.. I might take a look and see if I can scab one from there.. But for now The Big Yellow Bus is waiting for me to pick my kiddo up..

Started with a 22uf.. But then found a 33uf off a trashed PB.. Only problem I am having is that HDMI isnt working..I will dig into that after the kiddo goes to bed..

Yes I do hope to get that going.. I was thinking of donating that to the to the high rise where the elderly peeps live.. They could put it in there activity room and watch movies since it has DVD built in.

That is very nice of you, especially since you re-capped it, it is likely to last 10-15 years or more.

Keeping stuff out of landfill is very fun and rewarding and if you donate to a good cause it makes it even better. I would do it more often if I could afford it, but I'm broke at the moment. (Student life... budget of about £10 a week to survive on.)

                                      Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

As the Elitebooks (820, 840 all gens) only show flashing Power LED and flashing CapsLock (continuously) + a very soft "ticking" noise near the DC Jack,
I wonder if re-flashing the BIOS might be of any use here.

As far as I understood, steady flashing either means insufficient power or a CPU/GPU/Motherboard issue. I use the original 65watt power supply.

There are so many threads out there, but most of the solutions involve flashing codes, which I dont have or claim that you MUST use the original power supply, do a hard reset, reseat the RAM, clean the RAM,...

Only 3/5 vl are present when charger connected..when i put my red probe at the coils of 3/5volts and power on with my power suplly it try to rise than 0v.
when try to power on using power button i note this starnge value : 3v then 0.300v then 3v !

Hp Spectra x360 Power light flashing, component id
                                      by CraigR
Working on a hp x360 15-eb1043dx that will not turn on and the power light just flashes. It pulls 700ma when flashing. Under the thermocam I found a component I am unable to id that light up. If someone can help would be appreciated. I put the number that are on it in better test....

un65tu7000fxza - Flashing Red Power Light
                                      by stephonwhyte
un65tu7000fxza - I am experiencing the flashing red light on the power led. So I purchased the replacement kit for the mainboard and power supply. I still experienced the flash red power light. So I purchased a new ribbon cable, The flashing light stopped for a minute, I could hear sounds on the TV but no picture. I did the 60 second reset and it went back to flashing. What could possibly be the issue now? All the LEDs are lit up from what I can see.

                                      Thanks for all responses.
