    tom66, i paid 20$ each at a local recycler !!! i bought 5 total for 100$.
one had a broken screen, i salvaged the boards. 2 are fixed, one is work in progress, and the 4th one is waiting for the STK from china (42incher).

I had fun with these, took time but it'll get easier when i buy a few more. thanks for the help tom66. im not a tv tech at all, but an IT guy doing tech support/install and networking.

Well, two TVs would be great I'm sure, a third could only be a bonus. How much did you pay for them. I need money as a student!

    Oh, sorry. Okay..

here it is anyway I got some buffer chips coming from either usa or china (if that american guy answers i'd be glad to buy from US.. argh)

thanks tom66, maybe i'm saving that buffer at last. hell, i'll have 3 working tv's by today when digikey comes deliver those caps and such.

just need a buffer chip, but i'll see if everything works by having half of the tv on.

they were very used to start with, but hell i got 2 working now.
next time im buying some new sanyo's not used.
did you check a lotta things before you installed the j016's ? like make sure buffers were not shorted, that everything was clean on the ysus zsus ?

im surprised it killed the j016 that bad, we can see the burns clearly, there must be some shorts elsewhere

// edit.. what do you mean the first gnd is open ?
It was the J015(new) that went bang. Double and triple checked, no shorts(unless I bridged something on install?). The set was working, swapped this board in for testing. Ran the ysus up with no IPMs and checked the voltages, all seemed ok and no smoke. Took a brave pill and removed the IPMs from the ZSUS I got working and this ysus board is now functional.
Can only assume my error or dud IPMs.

Have purchased other semiconductors from UTSOURCE, no probs but I don't like the idea of used or refurbished modules.

Got the J015 from UTBARN but I think I'll try again with 2 new modules from a guy in Malaysia. A little bit dearer but advertised as new.

If they go bang then I'll know it was bad parts as the ZSUS was in use until I took the IPMs out of it. I'll call it quits if they do fail, just burning $$$.

Very few of these for sale here now broken. I think most have expired and been dumped by most due to the expense of repair given what you can get new fairly cheap now.

Not the best picture on these LGs but the sound on this is awesome.

Can you tell me where you got the bad modules from? I got mine from Hong Kong on Ebay but the seller only has refurbished J016B, no new. The J015B was new.

Hope your having more luck than me. I got my brand new J015B today, looked good too and different to my blown 15B.

BANG!! dead. I could'nt find anything obvious with the existing 16B and did not replace.

I can only assume it killed the new module.

So i ripped the modules out of the Zsus i got going and now the ysus fired up.

Looks like 2 more modules $$.

Picture1 is new, 2 is the old dead one, 3 is now new dead one.

One thing I notice with the bad J016 is the first GND is open, you guys have any idea how this affects the module. I think it is this that is the problem. I've had 2 now that were bad like this.

    4A shows as 50V

What's the biggest you can get? :P There is no harm in installing one with too high reverse rating unless it is a zener.

which one, the small one ? i tested and see 12vdc going across this one.

the bigger 4a one, i'm trying to understand what i need, the pdf posted by tw2005 seems to be of a good device, but i'm wondering what voltage do i need ?

Are you still looking for the diode - Can't you test across a board with one of those components on there?

Check the voltage across it. If it's a 15V nominal supply (I suspect it is) use a 20-22V zener diode like this...

    http://www.digikey.com/product-detai...87-1-ND/790090

It's just to protect the IPM, or the rest of the board, when something goes wrong and the supply goes too high. Not sure a puny thing like that is going to do much good though, it would usually melt.

okay. ive got no diode like that left, it was shorted on one of the ysus ive repaired already. so i got a board with none on it..

how can we figure out what a smd marking means ? it says 25.. ive tried to search a lot, but hell, didnt find much.. a lot of references on 25 but not with this package size

maybe i wasnt clear in the way i explained. i mean the board on which that diode shorted had a few shorts on it which i all resolved, a shorted fet etc.. now this one works

so the one missing that diode just needs a new one, all seems fine in that section of that board. the psu was full of 330uf 10v bad caps tho. that's the 3rd plasma of the same model

MSI Z370-A Pro, works but does not power off or reboot and USB issues
    by gretti
I have a MSI Z370-A Pro. The board does not reboot or shut down from the Windows recovery console. USB communications stop and the status light on USB 1 stays on and does not blink. I have programmed a new BIOS with a CH341A programmer already, swapped RAM, PSU, CPU. The board will power off when the power button is held and resets when the reset switch is pressed, but it will not react to the reset switch if already told by software to shut down or restart. The board will reboot from BIOS after a save and exit command.

The MSI BIOS included the ME firmware for the board. The size...

LG 60PV450 Possible Bad YSUS Need help confirming Diagnosis
    by PlasMatt
I have an LG plasma that after reading through a bunch of posts and doing some testing I believe has a bad YSUS board. The problem is that that doesn't make sense to me for some of the symptoms. The problem started yesterday. While watching a movie the TV just shut down like I pressed power. I have it hooked to a PC and use RS232 to turn it off and on so I thought maybe something had glitched there. I turned it back on and finished the movie with no problems. The same thing happened today so I checked logs to see if something in the control glitched and sent an off command but it didn't, After...

    Samsung PN59D6500 Plasma TV issues
    by Burglicious
Hey all, i have a Samsung PN59D6500 that I rescued from the dumpster and I'm trying to fix it. So the issue I am having is that the TV isnt turning on at all. I have VS,VA,VSC,VE at all the appropriate voltages. I have 3.3V at the PS-On, and 5V also. Whats happening is when i press the power button on the remote the TV has has the relays click, some pixels flash on the screen and then it seems to turn off. It repeats this until the TV is unplugged. I know that the Mainboard has a problematic EEPROM but this seems kinda like a power regulation issue. Anyone have any ideas?

Pioneer Kuro Pro 111FD 8 blink red LED.

I have been trying to solve the power-down 8-blink red LED problem with my Pioneer.

So far I have replaced the power supply board, and the digital assembly board, I have reconnected the ribbons to all boards, ensuring the connections are good. Even though the problem is the 8 red light error and not the more common 8 blue light error code, I had Kcrownie,
based in North Carolina replace the chips that cause the 8 blue LED problem (the main board and audio board) the plasma is still powering...

Hi, trying to troubleshoot some problems with this laptop I just finished repairing which had power issues (Burnt Buck converter - SY8883DFC shorted to ground).

After repairing the above issue, I realized the following remaining problem,
Sound only comes from bottom speakers, top palmrest speakers don't work. Neither does the headphone jack (static/buzzing).
The computer recognizes headphones are connected and displays a popup in windows
Sometimes, the computer will boot up and the sound will be working fine. However, if I run intensive programs and the computer...
