KDL-46V2500 intermittent 4 blinks

Hello everyone, I have been lurking in the shadows for some time and have found a good deal of correct information posted here by some nice folks, I hope to be able to add to the collective wisdom at some point. The problem Sony at hand is throwing a back-light failure code but is terribly intermittent, sometimes occurring in 5 seconds and sometimes not for a day or more. There is no symptom in the picture to suggest that shutdown is about to take place, the screen is uniformly bright, devoid of lines, and is equally responsive in all areas. The power supply and all 4 inverter boards have already been replaced by the previous owner who said they made no difference. No amount of physical manipulation or temperature change will force the failure. Thanks for having me aboard, and thanks for any help.

Do you have a digital multimeter? Most Sony TVs will have a signal indicating an inverter/backlight failure, which can be tested. If this signal is showing an error, it could be a worn out CCFL tube.

As luck will have it the set has been running fine now for 36 hours, picture is gorgeous corner to corner. I'll have to wait until it takes another spell before troubleshooting further, it might run for days. manipulation of wiring harnesses has no effect, nor does tapping on pcb's. I have changed lamps on laptop displays, are these replaceable too?

If you are meaning the CCFL tubes then yes...they simply pop out of the tabs that hold them in - but that does require carefully removing the LCD screen.

Hello, I came across this post and I have the same problem with my Sony Bravia KDL-46V2500. When I try to turn on the TV the screen stays completely black and the power indicator will blink red 4 times. I haven't been able to find any clear cut solutions online. Can someone please tell me what parts I need to replace in order to fix this issue? Thank you so much in advance!
