I have a strong indication it is that T-CON board. We see the power supply working, and the backlight and panel seems to work (bad panel can be white but I don't believe this is the case). The main seems to be finding fault or missing it (in your first case). I would get a T-CON and see what happens.
The blinking green and timer light I have never seen but if that works, it would still be financially smart.Comment

Ok need some help on ordering the T-Con Board. ShopJimmy has 2 different boards but they the Samsung part numbers. Again this is what I have

Ok I had the new T-Con Board above overnighted to me and the same thing happens as the old one. Now what? Tried it with both Main boards exact same results.Last edited by Gadjet; 10-05-2012, 01:38 PM.Comment

Check for continuity in your LVDS cable.
You also never did list all the voltages in respect to the legend (they are prob going to be good but to be sure)
How does the connection from the TCON to the panel look?Comment

I had the same exact scenario. (the 5 blinking red, changed the T-Con, now have the green and yellow blinking) Did you reach a resolution for this issue?

Just to update the post on this situation, I had another tech attempt to update the new main board and he said he couldn't get it to work back in Sep. 2014. I just recently downloaded the update and did it myself and the TV is now working. Updates are very specific on how they need to be placed on a usb drive to be read by the tv. I'm assuming that the other tech didn't create the proper folder name and just dumped it on the drive in the root folder. Read and read again the instructions for a tv update. Vary by manufacturers.Comment

Hi There,
This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.
After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.

I've recently been given a Sony 8k Z8H. It's got a white screen with two vertical black bars. At times it's given me the 5 blink Tcon code. Testing voltage on the Tcon I can see some low or missing voltage. I've done a basic visual check of cables and the COF. Not seeing anything obvious. The original Tcon seemed to have good caps until turning it over. On the bottom I found maybe 10 caps with both sides of the caps shorting to ground. I thought ok these caps and likely other components on the Tcon are shorted so let's try a replacement Tcon. I just received the... -
Hi,
i want to repair a Sony KD-75XF9005 TV that initially only showed a grey picture.
Backlight seems to work, Sound (Setup menu after reset) works.
If i dissconnect the left FFC cable from TCON to panel i have half a screen on the right. If left cable is connected always only the grey screen.
Interchanged the cables, its always only the right side that is working. Always grey if left side is connected.
With my small knowledge i would think at least the cables are good.
Can this happen because of a bad tcon board?
Or is it always a bad/shorted... -
This TV was showing a fine image and pulsing with a partial double image (offset vertically) every few seconds. I taped 8 clock pins on one ribbon cable from the Tcon to the panel. It stopped the double image, but some pulsing in intensity was still visible. I then taped another 8 clock pins on the same ribbon cable and the image is now ‘fixed’. Although I understand this results in some loss of resolution, presumably because the clock signal degrades as it passes horizontally across the screen.
I am wondering - do these symptoms and ‘fix’ mean that it’s a Tcon fault or... -
The TV shows a black screen with no image.
TCON ribbon connectors were disconnected individually for image and there was no half image even.
Later both ribbons were disconnected and TCON voltages were tested.
12V, 3.3V, 1.8V were seen present but VONE signal reads 0V.
There is also a short to ground in this circled inductor.
Is this a TCON issue or something else ?...
