Good eye!!! Thanks! I never thought to look for fuses on main board.

Both test at 0.08 ohms, meter set on 200 ohm scale

started a topic Curtis lcd3215a Standby power only

    Curtis lcd3215a Standby power only

    Symptoms=
Red led when plugged into wall
Steady green flashing led when power button is pushed
Steady green flashing led stays after pushing power button to turn off

    Visual inspection=
found 2 slightly puffed caps on power supply & heat signs around transformer.

Replaced the 2 caps, symptoms did not change.
I tested for shorts on all large mosfets and bridge rectifier(none found)
Tested for shorts on 4 large diodes (none found)
Tested the 4 rectifiers and all 4 test for a short,But looking at how there in circuit, that could be the way they would test in circuit, but im not sure on that.
I also hunted for a fuse but cannot find one.

I tested for voltages on pins going to main board and to inverter
found 5v on two pins going to main board
    (actual voltages on my pics)

Do you guys think the two pins going to the main board that i found 5v on are standby for the main board and a signal voltage coming back from the main board to tell power supply to turn on??

Should i replace the rest of the caps on the power supply??

Should i pull the 4 rectifiers out of circuit to test??(I can post pic of how there in circuit if needed)

I dont know how to test the transformer.

Any help on what i should test next would greatly be apprecieted!!!

Sceptre U550CV-UMR 4K LED, Bad Caps on Main Power Board?
    by Dani_2024
Hi and thanks in advance for any input you might provide!
I have a Sceptre U550CV-UMRD8POTV83BB 4K LED (this is a dumb tv) that I bought new in August 2021, so It's just completed 3 years.
Main power board model: TP.MS3683.PC821 T-Con board: N4TP546UHDPU2L_BO

Last Sunday I was watching a dvd and fell asleep for about half hour, when I awoke the tv screen was black and couldn't get the dvd menu to show, so I changed the input to antenna and had sound but no picture, turned it off. I then got online and found this great site! ....read many troubleshooting tips and this...

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
    by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

    Assuming...

    Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74 power issue
    by GLISIT
    Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

Acer TravelMate P214 - N19Q7 main power rail shorted to ground
    by mkdj
    Dear all,

I have taken out the motherboard of a Acer TravelMate P214. There is a short to ground on the main power rail (19V). I don't have the schematics or boardview for this board (DAZ8IMB1AA0 REVA). But I have found 4 MOSFETS close to the main power rail : 2 N-Channel and 2 P-Channel.

I have checked resistance across each of the 4 MOSFETS. I have the following readings:
    Both N-Channel Mosfets: nothing odd

    P-Channel MOSFET number 1:
    source - drain : 117 kOhm
    source - gate: 96 Ohm
    gate - drain: 117 kOhm

    P-Channel MOSFET...

(SOLVED) - ONN 100012588 No Power, Then Rebooting After Main Board Change
    by JDC
    ONN 100012588
Issue: No Power, Then Rebooting After Main Board Change

Short answer: replace main board and power board
Technical answer: replace main board and Q306 & Q307 on power board.

    Long answer:

TV wouldn't turn on. Power switch was fine which means the main board isn't processing the power on signal. Replaced main board. TV turns on now but randomly reboots. Bad main board? EEPROM? Tried to pull main board and got a shock touching the corner of the board. That's weird. C334 (450V 10uf) capacitor is still holding a high charge....
