The picture is too blurr to see that bad diode, can we get good clear pictures so may be we can figure out the function of the diode is?Never stop learning

Re: sharp lc-c3234u
Does it show shorted when you measure it with one leg lifted off the board? Not sure the function of this diode, it is small so it will not be for power.Never stop learning

Re: sharp lc-c3234u
The board you are working right now is a power supply/backlights inverter board combination.
There are many things to test on this board, such as the secondary windings resistance of the inverter transformers (you have five of them on your board), fuses, burnt component, shorted/open transistors, MOSFET's, Diodes, bad traces/connections.
To test the lamp, you will need working backlights inverter board to drive the lamps.
Can you tel us the blinking pattern of the power light, may be we can look up the error codes for it.Never stop learning

Re: sharp lc-c3234u
It will not be easy to get to the lamps to inspect which one is bad, if it does have lamp failure you should see the backlights flash on for seconds (because the inverter will try to fire up the lamps) and it will go into shutdown and then provides the error code. Try looking at the screen in a dark room and see if the lamps even fired up (they have too for seconds because that how the detection circuits will know if the lamps do fire up and stay on for the first 3 seconds or not, if that condition does not happen in that time period, the circuits will go into shutdown with an error codes.

Re: sharp lc-c3234u
So are you getting pictures on the screen? Some Sharp TV uses the lamps with metal caps at the ends and then snapped into the lamp sockets, may be some came loose?
Some of them may have wires solder to the ends of the lamps and they do have wire burnt out problem, this happen a lot in the monitor: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/y...klight%20lamp/Never stop learning

by cajoegHello, I'm new to the group and to trying to repair a LCD TV. During the past few years, I've been collecting/repairing/restoring vintage personal computers (Commodore, Apple II, Atari, TRS-80, Texas Instruments, and Timex Sinclair). This has been my retirement hobby. Now I've gotten interested in trying to repair a LCD TV that I have and used regularly when working on vintage computers.
The LCD I'm working on is a Insignia NS-LCD019. I've downloaded the service manual that I could find, but it must be a different revision since not too many items in the service manual match the TV... -
by roy.zheroI acquired a free 50” TV. IT is a Sharp LC50LE752E. It does not show a picture and has no backlight, although the indicator light turns blue meaning it has turned on.
When power is plugged in, the indicator light will turn on blue, the backlight stays off and nothing is visible, even with a flashlight. When pressing the touch buttons on the tv nothing happens. When pressing buttons on the remote control the indicator light will blink indicating the IRsignal was received, but nothing happens.
When I hold the force-on-combination it will turn on. It then shows a perfect... -
by sam_sam_samI have a Lithonia Lighting 65-Watt Gray Hardwired Compact Fluorescent
I also have back when Light of America had these light bulbs available for yard lights
The issue with Light of America was the blast boards had all most certain board failure while bulbs hardly ever fail
While the Lithonia lighting fixture has all most certain bulb failure
So I have modified the Lithonia lighting fixture to accept the Light of America light bulb and see how long this will last
I have only had this light fixture for not more than a year if it... -
