Update on my original post. I received my 47uf 50v cap and installed it, very encouraging when I saw the display light up now to put it back together and hook it up to my satellite. hope it works.

New update all hooked up all I get is white screen I assume that's the back light. Well I think that's an improvement so far. any more Ideas would be appreciated.

Check the cable from main board to T-con is properly seated.

As I re seated tcon cable and re assembled all the wires I turned it on and nothing no display untill I unplugged a cable form power supply to mainboard
here is a picture. Ihave no Idea where to check for know help.

Do you have a multimeter? I assume since you have an ESR meter you will have one... Check the voltage on each of the pins going to the main board. I think this is a Harwa chassis - the wall mount bracket looks familiar.

When checking voltage I am a real newbee can you explain how? to do so

Place the black probe in a spare screw hole of the chassis, this is your ground.

The red probe then goes on each voltage you want to measure. For the pins, you can apply a small amount of pressure to make contact with the metal surround in the connector.

Set your meter to DC 20V, if it is manually ranging. If it is autoranging, use volts or DC volts, whichever is available.

Repeat for each pin, noting down the voltage... don't round down report the exact value. If they fluctuate or change note this.

Is this with power plugged in to wall ?
Now am I checking voltage with wires plugged in power supply and to main board ? I am checking voltage on the mainboard side.

Yep. Be careful not to touch any of the heatsinks on the power supply. In the US, they can be at half supply voltage, or about 60VAC, which can give a nasty tingle.

I decided to take a second volt reading form out of powersupply

Does the power supply have any labelling near the connector indicating that is 3.3V output or something else? Are there any more outputs?

I have a feeling that main board has a short I have checked all caps and they have good Esr values about .25 ohms

Fuses on power supply test good all caps are good

I have no idea what else to check
