Please also check if you re-installed all the connector cables properly to it's original positions, expecially the cables inside the digital board.

Re: Panasonic Plasma TH-50PZ800U power supply light 2 blinks
46" plasma, ETX2MM704MG-H power supply
I had the 10-blink problem
.
.
I bought a $15 auction on eBay which included 2 new microchips and 2 surface mount capacitors. I spent a good bit of time, soldered everything on (MC201 MC301), thought I may have messed circuits up but then may have fixed.
Tested, still the same 10-blink problem
I sent the board off to a eBay seller who offered a repair service for $92.
I got the board back in the mail today, re-installed and tested.
Still no turn-on, this time just 2-blinks after you press the power button.
Carefully inspecting board MC201, I Thought I saw where the capacitor was missing from a previous fudge-up of mine, the positive contact for that capacitor is basically missing from the board.
.
.
Seeing where those 2 contacts go, I thought I could solder negative of capacitor to the top left pin on micro-chip, and positive to the 3rd pin down from top on left side of micro-chip.
Capacitor soldered on carefully with wire leads to extend, I seem to have done a fine job didn't bridge any contacts
.
.
Still same 2-blink problem after I push power button, didn't fix it yet.

Re: Panasonic Plasma TH-50PZ800U power supply light 2 blinks
Does anyone know what problems to look for when getting a 3 blink error on the TH-50PZ800u? I have replace the A and D boards according to the repair manual but I still am getting the same 3 blinks when attempting to power on the TV.
Any ideas?

This cap is in MC201, it should have polarity. I replaced this kind of caps for two TVs with the same issue, it works.Leave a comment:

Re: Panasonic Plasma TH-50PZ800U power supply light 2 blinks
How are you replacing these with electrolytic caps? Won't polarity matter? Going by that ceramic caps have no polarityLeave a comment:

Re: Panasonic Plasma TH-50PZ800U power supply light 2 blinks
I got another model PANASONIC TH-50PZ85U, the same problem: when I press the power button, 2 blinks.
I didn't bother to take the power supply unit out, instead, I solded out the small cap and replaced with a 1uf 50v cap as shown in the pictures,
tv works perfect now.
SO it looks like these serious tv power ssupplies have this common issue, you only replace the cap, not the ic.Attached Filesif you find these attachements useful please consider making a small donation to the site

It's easier to fix if you take it off.

Re: Panasonic Plasma TH-50PZ800U power supply light 2 blinks
According to Norcal that made the youtube repair video, this cap only needs to be 15+ volts so I believe your 35v caps would be fine.
I'm wondering how to tell if it the cap that is bad on the Mc201/Mc301 boards or if it is the TEA1611 IC and the cap that need to be replaced? Is there any test that would tell me or should I just replace both and be done with it? If it is just the cap that is bad, I'm going to try and repair without removing the board. If I need to replace the IC, then the board needs to come out. Hope some one has an easy test since there have been so many of these PS boards repaired on the Panasonic Plasma's.Leave a comment:

Re: Panasonic Plasma TH-50PZ800U power supply light 2 blinks
What is the consensus on what type of cap to use for this? Some are using a 1uf 'lytic. On the AVS thread one guy strongly advocates 50v Polyester film (of the Panasonic ECQ-V or ECQ-B series) These are non-stocking at DigiKey. The only 1uf Polyester caps they do stock are 250v which are ginormous. Can I just use a couple of generic 1uf 35v orange drop caps that I have in stock already? Or just use a 50v 105c 'lytic and be done with it?Leave a comment:

Re: Panasonic Plasma TH-50PZ800U power supply light 2 blinks
Finally I fixed it.
I only cool the ceramic capacitor on the power supply boards MC201, it could power up, so that cap is bad cap.
I bought 10 common 1uf 50v capacitors for 1 dollar, and use 1 to replace the bad cap. It's hard to sold because it's too small, I almost damaged the curcuit, so I use two soft / small wires to link to the new cap as show in the photo, and it works fine !Attached Filesif you find these attachements useful please consider making a small donation to the site

Re: Panasonic Plasma TH-50PZ800U power supply light 2 blinks
I watched this video and did the cold spray to the ic, it could start, once I powered off, the same problem repeated.

So I ordered the ics and is waiting for the ic to replace.Leave a comment:

Re: Panasonic Plasma TH-50PZ800U power supply light 2 blinks
The usual failure is what tom66 said but it can sometimes be the D board (as you've tried) or A board. It also can be just about any other board but P, D, and A board have priority in a sense.Leave a comment:

Re: Panasonic Plasma TH-50PZ800U power supply light 2 blinks
I believe this is caused by a single failed MLCC ceramic capacitor on the power supply boards MC201 or MC301. Can you open your TV up and take a picture of the PSU? (It's the board which connects to the mains - trace the wiring.)Leave a comment:

Panasonic Plasma TH-50PZ800U power supply light 2 blinks
Panasonic Plasma TH-50PZ800U some times turns on and works OK , even many hours has no problem, but when I turn it off, then it sometimes can't turn on with power supply light 2 blinks, the blinks stop 1-2 seconds and repeat, then it can't control any more both using remote control or the power button, I have to unplus the power cord to stop the blinkings.
Looks like hard to detect the root cause as some times it works fine, most times not power on. Any one can help ?
I got the error code from Panasonic that 2 blinks is 15v SOS D-Board, but some one did replace the d-board still the same problem.Tags: None

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by jm1234Hi,
anyone able to provide the service manual for old plasma Panasonic TX-P42ST50E?
It turns off almost immediately (0~5 seconds after pressing the on/off button) and starts flashing the red diode 6 times.
I disconnected the left-hand side board (SC?, both the ribbon cable and the power cable to it) and also another ribbon going to bottom left board. Then the led signal is 8 flashes. According to service guide to another Panasonic plasma it would mean the left-hand side board is faulty. But I'm not sure it 100% applies to my model.
I checked that board for any obvious faults... -
by BiruslapioHello, I've had this TV for 3 years, 2 years ago it stopped working signaling 12 Blinks, SOUND_SOS according to the service manual.
It has no VSUS or VDAT, and P15V has 1.0V instead, the same 15V goes to A board. F15V is ok and other main voltage rails.
It seems the power supply is defective, since unplugging D20 ribbon cable that goes from D-board to SC-board makes the behavior change, the TV stays on, there's no image nor VSUS, but 15V reads 2.4V, high enough to not trip the SOS 12 blinks, so it stays on, fans do not spin but I left it 2 hours, green led lit up... -
by AlicatHello,
Stopped by this site trying to fix my parents Panasonic Plasma TV.
Model number is TH-50PZ85U
Power comes on and the red power light stays on solid.
Did a few checks like hold the power button on for 60 seconds, hold the - Volume while holding the menu button, no luck, still@ blank grey screen as the screen lights up very vague.
I also hear a few clicks.
I also think my parents said there was a thunderstorm and the TV failed after that.
Section 6 in the service manual talks about power and no screen,...10-30-2024, 10:09 AM -
by sam_sam_samI have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump
One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy... - Loading...
