Polaroid TLX-03210B not responding.... at all

This is NOT the "smoking/bulging cap" issue, or at least not the one that everyone else seems to have. Recently a TV stopped responding ENTIRELY to ANY sort of input after having a VGA cable plugged to my PC from the graphics card (I don't really think this was the cause of the issue, though - how would that even work?). I plugged it in, and for a moment it worked fine - it displayed the image from my PC, albeit in the wrong resolution, and it didn't seem to show any problems. But I turned the TV off for a moment while I went to the bathroom, and when I went back, I tried to turn it back on, but... nothing. The LED was red, and it did nothing. I tried the power button on both the TV's panel and the stock remote that came with it, and nothing. I tried power cycling it to restore it to factory settings, and nothing. I've even taken it apart to check for problems, and I checked and reconnected the connectors of the control panel and everything else, and nothing had any noticeable problems. I don't really know what a "bulging capacitor" would look like, but I didn't see anything that looked particularly abnormal.

All it does is sit there, with the LED on red, and does not respond to anything. At all.

Any suggestions for what the problem might be, or what I should do to get to the bottom of the problem? I'm not exactly an experienced electrician, but I've "serviced" several smaller devices (video game consoles, VCR/DVD players, PCs) in the past, and never had a problem as weird as this before.

This TV is about 2 years old and I'm pretty sure it's well past its warranty.

Can you take some pictures of the boards in your TV? These Polaroids (and in general the Proview chassis) has a problem with the main board cage getting mis-seated from the main connector.
Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

This is a very common Polaroid defect - aka "the red light of death". The problem is the control board - nobody has been able to figure out what goes wrong with it. Your best solution is to get a working board from a set with a cracked screen. Several people have posted horror stories from boards acquired on eBay. I also had difficulty with 1 board that I got on eBay, but the second board worked perfectly. This is the part number: 200-107-GT321XA-BH

Here are some pics of the boards, but imgur seems to have shrunk them. I'll mediafire them in a bit.

            USB problems?
            by Hondaman
Recently I discovered my SSD died (OCZ/Toshiba 240 GB). It was in a USB enclosure, attached to the Linksys WRT-AC1200 router. Since then I removed the USB enclosure and attached it to my Win7 PC (AMD 8150 CPU, 970 chipset, 64 GB RAM). I also gathered one or two other USB enclosures to figure out what is going on.

(I suspect that I lost quite a few MP3 and FLAC files I recently ripped from my audio CDs, I think I lost very little un-replaceable stuff.)

I think it is IMPOSSIBLE for Win7 to have any problems with a USB enclosure as long as Win7 knows how to speak to the...

Lenovo 11e problems (any sata hdds are not recognized, sleep battery drain)
            by clabr
Need help to solve some problems with this laptop.

After working in bed with it one night and heating up too much (probably the cause of this problems) the sata HDD OS windows froze
After restart the original Sata HDD was not recognized anymore (but works fine in other laptops or PCs)

Tried connecting other good Sata 2.5 HDDs but not one is working in this laptop anymore (not the original nor others)

Before this had happened I observed some other problems:
When I tried replacing original mecanical HDD with a SSD HDD could not get them...

What problems could this blown cap cause in a Marantz SR5400?
            by ohren
I'm looking at a vented C513 in a Marantz SR5400 (photo included), in the FR section on page 24 in the service manual (https://audiocircuit.dk/downloads/ma...400-avr-sm.pdf).

R533 right below it in the photo is charred, but measures the correct value.

            1. I'm not familiar with amplifier circuits (at all — don't know the difference between classes, etc.) so I was wondering what problems would manifest from a supposedly non-operational C513? I didn't hear anything odd when testing the output channel with a speaker. Is there a simple test that can be done...

display screen problems after changing motherboard
            by jean luc ferre
            Hello,
First on my laptop i had a motherboard with a pentium 6100 processor. Installing w11 i was blocked on the 23h2 version...impossibility to upgrade toward 24h2 because the SSE4.2 functionnality of the cpu was missing. About displaying and screen looking all was perfect.
I changed of motherboard with an intel I3 processor...and now i don't find the previous aspects of the displaying.
Now i have a veiled screen and pixels are missing though the graphics parameters have not changed.
Desinstalling and reloading the drivers in the same time on the graphic card (intel hd...
