just gone through em all one by one and they all light up no flickering, on then after a couple a seconds go off again, i have noticed one transformer seems to make some noise, starts buzzing then sqeals before the light goes off
not sure if i should just buy that ebay item or not, coz its hard to source the transformers unless i get them from u.s but there $20 each i think so for £35ish i could get the ebay one? unless i could get a replacement transformer equivilent over here?Last edited by shepp; 05-05-2012, 08:56 AM.Comment

just noticeed this, do the ribbon cables just push in? cause i cant see a clip or any thing on this type? and it wont push in any further

the one you have highlighted does look a little further out when you pull the ribbon cable out is the end of the cable ok no tracks lifted? stopping it going all the way in may be shine a light in the connector just to comfirm there nothing out of place in the socket? bent pins or whatever in there.Comment

which ones are they? the invertor to tcon?
i check the on/off voltages before and they were fine and also the dim was getting a reading, just gonna whip cover off the t con now just to check the ribbon cables in properly, i had it working for a short time(5mins) the other day until i hit the menu button and it went off againComment

bought new invertor boards off ebay and just replaced the master and its up and running now, thanks guys once again for the input, the board has got a hot spot on it so im guessing its burnt something out, just hope i can sell the slave and get some money back for thatComment

hi this is my first post so please dont shoot!
i have a Wharfedale LCD42F1080P and i am having issues with it
i turn it on after a few mins you can see a faint flickering even more so when its a bright background during an advert for example
then after a while picture goes but still have sound, i can turn it off and on again and it will do the same
i measured the inverter side and im getting 21.?v when lit and 23.?v when the screens gone off and sound still on... im guessing its a flakey power supply or main inverter i was given it after someone tried fixing it

Hello everyone! I've found this television, and I began troubleshooting it.
First, the television kept rapidly power cycling. I've warmed up the capacitors with a hairdryer, and after 3 dimmed red blinks, the backlight turned on, then turned dim, and no picture was present on the screen.
I believed that this was caused by a bad power supply producing insufficent power (I've measured 3.5v on the 5.2v rail), so I've blindly recapped the board.
After the recapping, all the voltages stableized, however, the issue in the title still remains.

Hi guys! I realized you have a lot of knowledge here so i am hoping you could point me in right direction with my odd issue.
The Tv is a Philips 58PUS8545/12, it had no picture but working backlights.
Original T-con:
Opened the Tv and tested to unplug one ribbon cable at a time. With this test i could see that i got fine picture on both halves as long as there was only one ribbon cable connected, with two connected picture were gone.
First replacement T-con:
I thought it might be t-con and ordered new t-con from china(supposedly tested)... -

The issue with this set is that it turn on just fine and after a minute or so the picture shows either vertical lines or turns half black and from that point on starts a boot loop.
If a let the unit to cool down for a minute the same pattern starts again. i had exactly the same mainboard as a spare and replaced it but nothing changed.
Any ideas what to check?... -
This was my main TV for the last 6 years. I'm not inclined to throw out a $2600 TV so quickly so I'm trying to investigate the issue.
Problem
TV was disconnected from power for 6 months during construction. When I plugged it yesterday picture was fine, after 30 seconds it dimmed then started developing horizontal lines, picture then starts to ghost vertically until it degrades into vertical streaks. TV always displays a perfect picture when cold. I can unplug TV for 5 minutes and plug it back in and picture is restored for 20 seconds. I can also keep it in standby mode... -
Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
- sound and backlight, but no picture
- when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
- it keeps rebooting
- without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
- without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
- when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.
- without cable between mainboard and lcd panel and with a jumpered...
