Your buying from ccfl warehouse too? Or did you already get it in, cause im about to order from them.
The black plastic front bezel was also just clipped on , on my sharp, i more meant that the metal outer frame was only held on by 8 screws, and the lcd screen was attached to that metal frame, so that the inner frame / light box could easily be removed.
Fixed so far 12 lcd's , 1 plasmas, 5 monitors, 0 dlp's (plan to keep the dlps at 0). and 3 atx power supplies, and 2 motherboards.
Yes, I have ordered from there, I'm waiting now to arrive. I can't nothing else until then. The TV takes up my whole working space.
So it looks like they are pretty much the same construction.
I have got the tube in today (pretty fast).
It came in a USPS triangular long box and in it it was a very thick wall PVC tube and in it the ccfl tube in a plastic tube with caps. The tube it was bubble wrapped in the PVC tube.
I have installed it and the backlight came to life and staid that way. Yeah!!
Now I have to put it back together and see if everything else it's OK too.
Can we see the pictures, I never have to do lamp replace on SONY yet. By the way, this panel does not have the bad tab problem, and did the bcaklights come on for seconds and then go off due to bad lamp?
Oh wait, is this the 4100 or the 4150?
There were 2 different models sonys he was originally cosnidering buying to fix. The kdl40s4100 is the one with bad tab bonding possibly, but the one he fixed is a different model.

Sorry about mixing in to model numbers here.
The bulb seems a bit brighter then the rest. If it would be my TV, I would replace them all to get the maximum brightness oout of this screen.
This way I have installed it at the top.
The fit is very good. Maybe slightly thinner then the original. I haven't measured the new one, but the old one was 3.37mm.
I have two news, one good one and one very bad one.
The TV works great after the tube replacement. Can't notice the brightness difference. TV has an amazing video quality.
Now the bad news, after popping in the black plastic frame and installing that thin metal cover I have noticed that I have cracked the screen at both lower corners. The panel itself it didn't go all the way up, I was missing like MM to pop in it's location and by tightening the cover down I have cracked it.
So guys pay attention when reinstalling the panel, make sure that it sits where it should sit. Do not rush it.
I was so excited to see if it's working that I didn't pay much attention to the panel's location.
I have done that on the LCD for the monitor when I replace the lamps, but not happen to me yet on the TV, it is scarely when you try to lift up the 46 LCD panel off the frame on some of them they use the sponge with double-sided tape to hold down the LCD panel to the black plastic frame.
Sorry to hear about the bad news, so the panel is ruined?
