Re: LG 60PY3DF shuts off
Here is the back of the panel you were talking about. I do not see how to take that out to clean, sorry. I did reconnect the connectors and tried to power on again. Still the same.Attached Filesif you find these attachements useful please consider making a small donation to the site

Re: LG 60PY3DF shuts off
I just installed a new main PSU and put the multimeter to 600 (highest setting). Unplugged the power connection (red, blue wires) and the multimeter showed 400 and then slowly went down. What would my next step be? ThanksThis is a 60" model? Is there only one PSU? I'm a little surprised at how small that is... it's smaller than the one in my 42" plasma!
Check the Vs and Va voltage using a multimeter. Set your meter to 500V, 600V or 1000V DC. Check it while it clicks on.
If it's zero or nearly zero.
- Disconnect mains power
- Unplug Y board (left hand side of TV, from back)
- Check again with mains power
- Disconnect mains power
- Unplug Z board (right hand side of TV, from back)
- Check again with mains powerComment

Re: LG 60PY3DF shuts off
400V is way too high - check the battery in your meter. It should be around 185-195V for LG plasmas. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: LG 60PY3DF shuts off
I changed battery with new and same results. I did notice when I plug in main power from wall to tv it shoots up to almost 400 then quickly goes down. When it gets to 160 it then very slowly goes down.Comment

Re: LG 60PY3DF shuts off
Something is drastically wrong with the power supply. Does it do the same with either sustain board plugged in?Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: LG 60PY3DF shuts off
I have everything plugged in except the blue/red wire going into main PSU which is where I am checking power. Do I need to unhooked something?Comment

Re: LG 60PY3DF shuts off
Ah! Sorry, my error. This seems okay - you are checking the mains input. 400V peak is fine during startup, 160V is normal in standby mode. 400V indicates the power-factor correction is working.
I thought you were checking the plasma panel Vs voltage. Have you checked Vs?Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: LG 60PY3DF shuts off
I am very new to this and am learning so I am not sure exactly what I am doing, haa haa. But how exactly do I check the Vs voltage and to what board?Comment

Re: LG 60PY3DF shuts off
Can you post a closer pic of the Y SUSTAIN board? It's on the left hand side of the screen looking from the back. It is the big board that connects to the buffers through the actual plasma panel. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Can you take a clearer pic (try some light in the room to focus better) around the connectors? Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: LG 60PY3DF shuts off
Good... Check here.
Set meter to 500, 600 or 1000V DC. If you have an autoranging meter, just set it to V DC.
Connect the black probe to the chassis of the TV, such as a bare screw hole.
Use the red probe to probe one of the pins I've highlighted. Only one is necessary.
Record the voltage. It should be around 185V to 195V for LG plasma panels.Attached Filesif you find these attachements useful please consider making a small donation to the site

Re: LG 60PY3DF shuts off
Just to make sure, are you probing a red wire? With the unit turned on with a picture (if only briefly?) I eventually fixed my LG 42PC1D. It had a similar issue, although it was worse, in that it would shut down within about half a second, with the plasma panel only briefly flickering. It turned out to be an AC detect fault, which was an easy fix, but it took me ages to find it! (It should have been one of the first things I checked, but I missed it somehow.)
I'm trying to figure out if the Vs voltage is dropping, and the unit is shutting down because of this (I've got a Pioneer plasma which does this), or if the AC detect or some fault detect mechanism is interfering. Please do not PM me with questions! Re: LG 60PY3DF shuts off
Sorry what I checked was the pin on the board which showed 0. I just checked the red wire on the connector itself and it showed 189.Comment

by Giggle2562Hello everyone,
I have a Lenovo V15-IKB that had a damaged motherboard. I replaced it with a motherboard from a Lenovo V15-IIL.
The board powers on, but it shuts down after about 10-15 seconds. This only happens when the internal display (LCD panel) is connected.
Here's what I've tried so far:- When the internal display is disconnected, the laptop works perfectly fine via HDMI.
- The laptop shows an image on the internal display for a few seconds before it shuts down.
- I tried swapping the LCD panel with a known good one.
- I tried swapping the LCD cable

by brav1ezHello everyone,
I have an ASUS TUF Gaming FX505GD that's powering on, showing the ASUS logo for about 2 seconds with keyboard backlight, then immediately shuts off. After it shuts down, the power button does nothing until I unplug the laptop completely. No fans spin afterward either.
I’ve tried:
- CMOS reset
- Removing the SSD/HDD
- Reseating RAM (removing each stick individually stops boot completely)
- Cleaning up recently applied thermal paste around CPU/GPU and nearby VRM components (issue persists)

by chaos-theoryI have a really weird problem, this motherboard was working normally, someday it just started and all fans were running but didn't want to post, tried resetting bios, checking CPU and it was getting warm tried external gpu, flashed bios with programmer, but same problem.
Next day after several attempts the board goes into protection mode, no more staying on, I turn on the PSU fans starts directly turning, it used to not start until I press the pwr button, now it starts directly and fans spins, and shuts off after 3 seconds sometimes less, then won't start again unless I unplug the PSU and... - Loading...
