Re: LG 60PY3DF shuts off
This is a 60" model? Is there only one PSU? I'm a little surprised at how small that is... it's smaller than the one in my 42" plasma!
Check the Vs and Va voltage using a multimeter. Set your meter to 500V, 600V or 1000V DC. Check it while it clicks on.
If it's zero or nearly zero.
- Disconnect mains power
- Unplug Y board (left hand side of TV, from back)
- Check again with mains power
- Disconnect mains power
- Unplug Z board (right hand side of TV, from back)
- Check again with mains powerComment

Re: LG 60PY3DF shuts off
400V is way too high - check the battery in your meter. It should be around 185-195V for LG plasmas. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: LG 60PY3DF shuts off
I changed battery with new and same results. I did notice when I plug in main power from wall to tv it shoots up to almost 400 then quickly goes down. When it gets to 160 it then very slowly goes down.Comment

Re: LG 60PY3DF shuts off
Something is drastically wrong with the power supply. Does it do the same with either sustain board plugged in?Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: LG 60PY3DF shuts off
I have everything plugged in except the blue/red wire going into main PSU which is where I am checking power. Do I need to unhooked something?Comment

Re: LG 60PY3DF shuts off
I thought you were checking the plasma panel Vs voltage. Have you checked Vs?Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: LG 60PY3DF shuts off
I am very new to this and am learning so I am not sure exactly what I am doing, haa haa. But how exactly do I check the Vs voltage and to what board?Comment

Re: LG 60PY3DF shuts off
Can you post a closer pic of the Y SUSTAIN board? It's on the left hand side of the screen looking from the back. It is the big board that connects to the buffers through the actual plasma panel. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Can you take a clearer pic (try some light in the room to focus better) around the connectors? Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: LG 60PY3DF shuts off
Good... Check here.
Set meter to 500, 600 or 1000V DC. If you have an autoranging meter, just set it to V DC.
Connect the black probe to the chassis of the TV, such as a bare screw hole.
Use the red probe to probe one of the pins I've highlighted. Only one is necessary.
Record the voltage. It should be around 185V to 195V for LG plasma panels. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: LG 60PY3DF shuts off
Just to make sure, are you probing a red wire? With the unit turned on with a picture (if only briefly?) I eventually fixed my LG 42PC1D. It had a similar issue, although it was worse, in that it would shut down within about half a second, with the plasma panel only briefly flickering. It turned out to be an AC detect fault, which was an easy fix, but it took me ages to find it! (It should have been one of the first things I checked, but I missed it somehow.)
I'm trying to figure out if the Vs voltage is dropping, and the unit is shutting down because of this (I've got a Pioneer plasma which does this), or if the AC detect or some fault detect mechanism is interfering. Please do not PM me with questions! Re: LG 60PY3DF shuts off
Sorry what I checked was the pin on the board which showed 0. I just checked the red wire on the connector itself and it showed 189.Comment

SO i turn the laptop on , and as soon as it starts booting from disk, from usb, windows, linux,HBCD,anything i boot it just turns off....while in bios menu or in linux boot menu it stays on normally...It's like when it starts to use graphics it shuts down...But i measured 0.72V while working on the GPU power line,no excess heat is comming from GPU or CPU, i even removed the heatsink and turned the laptop on and everything worked fine, got a bit hot, fan span to full speed, but it worked like that for few minutes in bios...10-29-2024, 12:05 AM -
by chaos-theoryI have a really weird problem, this motherboard was working normally, someday it just started and all fans were running but didn't want to post, tried resetting bios, checking CPU and it was getting warm tried external gpu, flashed bios with programmer, but same problem.
Next day after several attempts the board goes into protection mode, no more staying on, I turn on the PSU fans starts directly turning, it used to not start until I press the pwr button, now it starts directly and fans spins, and shuts off after 3 seconds sometimes less, then won't start again unless I unplug the PSU and... -
by baglaivladHello everybody!
Have in work A1706 820-00239 model. Originally no power, shorted PPBUS_G3H because of corroded C6403, C6404. Some water damage around this components, but nothing major.
After replacing this capacitors the laptop came back to work, I reinstalled MacOS and had no issues until I started to test Type-C ports. Sometimes the laptop shuts off immediately when some action with Type-C ports performed (charger disconnected or USB device inserted/disconnected). I checked Type-C port flexes, they are okay, but I cleaned them anyway. I can't see any signs of liquid...11-20-2024, 08:14 AM -
by samuelphirikHi. I have a pre-owned Dell Inspiron 15 7567. It worked fine
During the first 3 days of owning it until Dell Update software popped a notification about a latest Bios version 1.15.0 and latest Intel ME Software update of which I updated. It rebooted and firstly, Upgraded Bios from version 1.8.1 to 1.15.0 then it started upgrading Intel ME firmware. After that update, my laptop shuts down without notice (Like thermal shutdown)
I checked Thermal Paste on the processor and the Graphics Chip and it was dry. Replacing thermal paste has not helped me.
Now I've noticed that laptop... -
by nickgronkI have a Hisense 55H6570F that gets the the boot loading screen for android and then shuts down. Oddly I hear a crackle on the mainboard as shown in the picture - nothing looks blown. The tv will boot every time, but when it reaches the loading statge of the anroid logo you can hear crackling on the board and it shuts down. What am I looking for (other than buying a new set) ? Inside the square is where I hear the crackling
